10 dead in Hurricane Goni in Philippines, nearly 4 lakh displaced

MANILA | The biggest storm in the Philippines this year has killed at least 10 people. Apart from this, 3.9 lakh people have also been displaced due to the storm. The hurricane has hit the country’s main island of Luzon. According to the news agency Xinhua, the civilian security office (OCD) of Biskol, the worst-hit area in Luzon, said at least 9 people were killed in the province of Albay and in the Catanduanes island province. Apart from this, 3 people were reported missing in the town of Ginobatan in Albay province. More than 3.9 lakh people have been displaced due to Goni. Of these, 3.45 lakh people are living in government centers.
