14 companies of CRPF deployed in Delhi in view of Jahangirpuri violence

New Delhi | A total of 14 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force have been deployed in Delhi in the wake of Jahangirpuri violence. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

According to officials, these companies – including six from Rapid Action Force, six from the general duty branch and two women companies – have been attached to Delhi Police to assist them in maintaining law and order. Delhi Police has deployed them as per the requirement.

The companies are referred to the local authorities upon request to assist them in dealing with the law and order situation, he said.

After the violent incident on April 16, apart from CRPF, three companies of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have also been attached to Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police is probing the Jahangirpuri case and has so far arrested 23 accused, including the alleged main conspirator Ansar, two of whom are juveniles.
