JAMMU | During the ongoing encounter in Nagrota area of Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces on Thursday morning killed 4 terrorists who were going in a truck. Senior police officers gave this information. Police said, four militants were killed and a police constable was injured in an encounter with police, CRF and army at Ban Toll Plaza Jammu. The area is being sanitized.
Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh said that a group of four JM militants had infiltrated India from the international border in Samba on Wednesday night.
They were going in a truck on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which the police stopped at a toll plaza near Nagrota.
After they were stopped, armed militants attacked the police party with grenades. The truck caught fire during the encounter.
The area has been cordoned off and additional forces have been called to the spot.
According to police, the terrorists belong to the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group based in Pakistan.
This is the second such encounter on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this year.
In January, three militants were killed by security forces. They were likewise hidden inside a truck.
