AAP leaders, ministers meet protesting farmers on Delhi’s borders

New Delhi | The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including cabinet ministers in the Delhi government headed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, met farmers protesting on all three borders of Delhi on Friday. Senior AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reached the Ghazipur border at 11.30 am on Friday.

Sources told IANS that senior AAP officials had decided to visit the protest venue in a meeting on Thursday night.

He also told that the AAP leaders had planned to visit the anti-farmer sites on the borders to take stock of the water, toilets and civic amenities being provided to them by the Delhi government.

The AAP government has been supporting the protesting farmers since the beginning of the movement.

AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal once again came out in support of the farmers on Friday and tweeted, “We stand with the farmers. Your demands are genuine. It is completely wrong to defame the farmers and call them traitors.” ”

Another senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain visited the Singhu border, where the farmers have been protesting for the last two months.

Jain was also accompanied by AAP national spokesperson and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) vice-chairman Raghav Chadha, who alleged that the Delhi Police tried to disrupt the water supply to the farmers.
