Canada Week 2020 to explore Canada-India technology partnership

NEW DELHI: The Consulate-General of Canada in Bengaluru, in partnership with the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), will host Canada Week 2020 from November 2 to 6. This largest virtual trade mission to Canada will facilitate partnerships between the Indian and Canadian technology ecosystems and promote technology-based foreign direct investment between the two nations. High commissioner for Canada will be also present. 

Canada’s Deputy Minister of International Trade, Mr. John Hannaford and India’s Commerce Secretary, Mr. Anup Wadhawan, will inaugurate the event. His Excellency Nadir Patel, the High Commissioner for Canada to India; His Excellency Ajay Bisaria, the High Commissioner of India to Canada; and Ms. Debjani Ghosh, President NASSCOM will also speak at the launch.

Leading up to the event, the High Commissioner for Canada to India Nadir Patel said: “Canada Week 2020 presents a great opportunity for Indian technology companies to learn more about investing in Canada. By working with Canada, foreign investors can gain access to 14 trade agreements, 51 international markets, 1.5 billion consumers, and a USD $49.3 trillion combined GDP. I encourage companies to take advantage of Canada Week 2020 to explore new partnership opportunities in Canada.”

The event will provide an exclusive opportunity to NASSCOM member companies to understand Canada’s technology and innovation ecosystems, global business development opportunities, immigration options, financing support, market opportunities in the Canadian technology space, its regulatory regime and offer avenues for low cost go-to-market strategies. Participants will also get opportunities for business match-making and networking. The event will also provide participating Indian companies a range of options to invest, grow and scale-up alongside strategic partners in Canada.

The virtual format will enable over 300 companies that have registered for this event to participate from anywhere in the world and listen to technology leaders, international policymakers and global influencers.
