CAT welcomed the extension of the lockdown period in Delhi

New Delhi | In view of the increasing Corona cases in Delhi, the Chief Minister of Delhi has extended the lockdown period in the capital by one week. The lockdown will remain from next Monday 17 May till 5 am. The decision has been welcomed by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT).

On May 6, CAT had sought to pursue a lockdown in Delhi after consulting with major trade organizations in Delhi. This time in Delhi, the lockdown will be implemented more strictly.

In Delhi, the metro will also stop running during the lockdown.

On this issue, Kat said that the way the lockdown is currently being done in Delhi is very worrying. In Delhi, the movement of people on the streets without any checking continues as before. In any lockdown, it is necessary to keep off all kinds of activities except not only shops but essential items.

Every person or vehicle entering Delhi on all the borders of Delhi should enter Delhi only after strict scrutiny. Strict vigilance is required at airports, railway stations and interstate bus stands.

It is difficult to break the Corona chain until these steps are taken effectively to break the chain of Kovid in Delhi.

CAT has demanded from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that, just as he has announced financial and other assistance for other sectors, it is very important to provide financial assistance to the traders of Delhi.

Shops and markets have been closed for the last three weeks in Delhi and traders have no money income while the needs of the family and the salaries of employees in the business, electricity bills, water bills, property taxes, EMI payments, interest on loans, etc. As the expenditure of funds by the traders continues.
