Los Angeles| In Los Angeles, California, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine was 73 percent effective in protecting children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years. These figures were announced by Pfizer. On June 17, the US Food and Drug Administration approved the vaccine for emergency use for children ages 6 months to 4 years.

Study participants received three doses of either the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine or a placebo.

Citing the results announced by the two companies, Xinhua news agency reported that the vaccine efficacy in children aged 6 months to 4 years in the first Kovid-19 infection was 73.2 percent.

Ugur Sahin, CEO and co-founder of BioNTech, said, “While these results confirm that three 3-ug doses of our COVID-19 vaccine provide high levels of protection for young children, at a time when Omicron The Ba.2 strain is highly prevalent.”

New Delhi: India recorded 12,249 new Covid cases in a 24-hour period, up from the previous day’s tally of 9,923. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given this information on Wednesday. In the same period, the country reported 13 more Covid deaths, taking the death toll in the country to 5,24,903.

Meanwhile, the country’s active caseload rose to 81,687, which is 0.19 per cent of the total positive cases.

The total number rose to 4,27,25,055 after 9,862 patients were cured in the last 24 hours. As a result, India’s recovery rate is 98.60 percent.

Meanwhile, India’s daily positivity rate has also increased to 3.94 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.90 per cent.

Also in the same period, a total of 3,10,623 tests were conducted across the country, taking the total number to over 85.88 crore.

As of Wednesday morning, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 196.45 crores, achieved through 2,54,02,207 sessions.

Over 3.58 crore adolescents have been given the first dose of the COVID-19 jab since the start of the vaccination campaign for this age group.

New Delhi: The first cases of ba.4 and ba.5 sub-variants of the Omicron strain of Kovid were found in Maharashtra on Saturday. The sub-variant has been found in at least 7 people from Pune.

New Delhi | 67,597 new corona cases were reported in India in 24 hours on Tuesday, which is 19 percent less than the 83,876 cases reported the previous day.

The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday morning that a total of 1,188 people died in 24 hours, taking the death toll to 5,04,062.

There are 9,94,891 active cases of the corona. The overall positivity rate in the country is 2.35 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 1,80,456 patients were cured, taking the number of recoveries to 4,08,40,658. The recovery rate in India is 96.46 percent.

A total of 13,46,534 corona tests were conducted across the country. India has done more than 74.29 crore tests so far.

More than 55.78 lakh vaccine doses have been given to people in the last 24 hours. With this, India’s corona vaccination coverage has reached 170.21 crores till Tuesday morning.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of Tuesday morning, more than 11.81 crore corona vaccine doses are currently available with the states and union territories.

New Delhi| The cases of corona infection in Delhi seem to be decreasing continuously. According to the report released on Thursday, more than 2500 Kovid cases have been registered in Delhi in the last 24 hours, while 13 patients have also died. A total of 2668 cases of corona infection have been reported in Delhi, while after 13 deaths have been registered, this figure has reached a total of 25,932. Apart from this, 3895 patients have gone back to their homes after recovering from a corona infection in the last 24 hours.

New Delhi: On the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister & completing one-year countrywide Vaccination Drive against COVID-19, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice Chairman, Shri Satish Upadhyay visited Corona Vaccination Centre at Atal Aadrash Vidhyalay, Moti Bagh, New Delhi to check the vaccination drive smoothly in teens having age group of 15-18 years.

Shri Upadhyay inspected personally and saw all the arrangements going on smoothly where teens are taking their first dose. While communicating with children, Shri Upadhyay emphasized habits like eating healthy foods, being active, and getting regular check-ups and said that vaccines are playing a vital role in keeping all of us healthy in the pendpandemicamic period.

Shri Upadhyay informed that as per the data received from Medical Services Department of NDMC presently, Seven (7) Covid Vaccination Centre, Two (2) Covid Testing Centre and Two (2) Covid Mobile Units are being run under NDMC area. Total 2,43,701 persons had been vaccinated in NDMC Centre whereas 3671 children’s had taken their first vaccination dose till today, he informed.  Shri Upadhyay said that vaccines are one of the safest and most convenient preventive care measures available during the pendapandemicmic and vaccines are not only safe but also an easy way to prevent disease / infection.

 Shri Upadhyay urged the parents to prepare their children for vaccination & motivate them and he said that COVID-19 vaccine will be very similar to the experience of getting routine vaccines. Shri Upadhyay said that getting a COVID-19 vaccine can help protect children from getting COVID-19 infection. He said vaccinated children can help protect their family members, including siblings who are not eligible for vaccination and family members who may be at increased risk of getting very sick, if they are infected.

New Delhi | Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that less than 25,000 cases may be reported in Delhi on Friday. “On Thursday, 28,867 new COVID cases were reported in the national capital, which is the highest ever increase since the start of the pandemic,” he said.

Speaking to reporters on the recent Covid deaths in Delhi, he said that around 75 percent of the Covid patients who died were not vaccinated.

“About 75 percent of the people who died due to Kovid infection did not take a single dose of the vaccine. It is important to get vaccinated. There are also instances where people had serious illnesses before contracting Covid-19,” he said.

A total of 127 deaths have occurred in Delhi this month between January 5 and 12 in just 8 days. Of those who died, only 34 were vaccinated against Covid-19. Of all the deaths, 74 were people under 60 in the city. Most of those who died were suffering from heart and liver diseases.

Jain said that more than 1300 beds are still vacant which is 88 percent of the total beds in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate in the city has gone up to 29.21 percent, which is the highest since May 3. According to the Health Department, the infection rate on May 3 was 29.55 percent. Active Covid cases have also increased to 94,160, the highest since May 1.

According to the Health Department, Delhi recorded the highest number of 96,747 active Covid cases on May 1.

New Delhi | 1,94,720 new cases of the corona were reported in India, which is about 26,000 more than the previous day. With over 85 lakh vaccine doses delivered in the last 24 hours, India’s corona vaccination coverage has reached 153.80 crores as of Wednesday morning.

According to the Ministry of Health, till Wednesday morning, more than 16.50 crore corona vaccine doses are currently available with the states and union territories.

New Delhi | On Monday, 19,166 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Delhi in the last 24 hours. Now the positivity rate here has reached 25 percent.

After the new cases, the total corona cases in the capital have gone up to 15,68,896 and the death toll due to infection has gone up to 25,177.

According to the Health Department, the number of active Covid cases has increased to 65,806, the highest since May 15. Earlier on May 15, there were 66,295 active Kovid cases.

With a recovery rate of 94.20 percent, the rate of active Covid cases in Delhi has gone up to 4.19 percent while the death rate is 1.60 percent.

With 14,076 patients getting cured in the last 24 hours, the total number of those who have recovered has gone up to 14,77,913. Presently a total of 44,028 Covid patients are being treated in home isolation.

The number of Covid Containment Zones has increased to 14,200.

Meanwhile, a total of 76,670 new tests – 66,327 RT-PCR and 10,343 Rapid Antigen – have been conducted in the last 24 hours and a total of 3,35,60,422 tests have been conducted so far.

Of the 25,030 vaccines administered in the last 24 hours, 16,901 were the first dose and 8,129 were the second dose. According to the health bulletin, the total number of vaccinated beneficiaries so far is 2,75,22,072.
