Giving information about the incident, Jhansi CMS Sachin Mehar said that 54 children were admitted in the NICU ward of Maharani Laxmibai Medical College. Suddenly a fire broke out, which was tried to extinguish. But, most of the children were on oxygen support and the fire spread rapidly. The incident happened at 5.30 pm.

Several fire brigade vehicles are still at the spot. It is being told that the fire in the hospital has been controlled. According to the information, more than 40 children have been rescued in this incident so far.

The district administration and the concerned officials have been instructed to conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured.”

Regarding this incident, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote in the X post, “The news of the death of many infants in a fire accident caused by a short circuit in the pediatric ward of the medical college located in Jhansi district is very sad and heartbreaking. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant speedy recovery to the injured children in the accident and give place to the departed souls in his feet. Om Shanti:”

As soon as the information about the incident was received, on the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Principal Secretary of Health Department have left for the spot. Brajesh Pathak wrote in his post, “The death of many newborn babies in the unfortunate fire accident in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (SNCU Ward) of Maharani Laxmibai Medical College in Jhansi today is extremely sad and heartbreaking. Jhansi division commissioner Bimal Kumar Dubey said that at the time of the incident, 54-55 children were admitted in the ward. The injured children are being treated in the hospital.

Jhansi division DIG Kalanidhi Naithani said that the fire has been brought under control.

Anshul Rathi, injured in the firing, was admitted to GTB Hospital, where doctors said that he was injured by glass pieces, although his condition is out of danger. Petrol pump owner Harish Chaudhary told the police that this incident may have happened due to old enmity. One person said, “Harish Chaudhary was the target of the miscreants. They fired 20-22 rounds of bullets. Bullet marks are visible both inside and outside the office. The fear of Delhi Police has vanished from the miscreants. Delhi has now become a crime city. An employee of our petrol pump has been injured. He is admitted in the hospital.”

According to an eyewitness, “20-22 rounds of bullets were fired at Mukul Diesel Pump in Gokulpuri. The incident took place between 10-11 pm late at night.”

When we asked why she did not tell yesterday, the girl said that the class teacher scolded her and told her not to tell anything to her mother. The girl told all this to the police on October 10 and also showed the place of the incident.

The father said that he contacted the police on October 9. The police showed great promptness on that day. On October 10, the police took us to the school along with the girl. When we requested to call the principal and class teacher of the junior wing of the school, the teacher said what was the need for them. The girl was made to identify all the staff in the school in many ways, but she identified only one person repeatedly. On that basis, the police caught the accused.

The father alleges that the police asked the principal to give the footage of the cameras till now. On this, the principal said that only footage of up to 30 days will be available. On this, the ACP said that give only that many days. When we reached the school the next day, the management did not give any satisfactory answer. Initially, they kept procrastinating in the name of giving the footage, then later they started saying that they would give only 14 days of footage. 23-year-old Gurnail Baljit Singh from Haryana has been sent to police custody for a week, a lawyer said. The other accused, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, is a minor. He has been sent for ossification test to determine his correct age.

The two are accused of shooting former Maharashtra minister Siddiqui near the office of his son and Congress MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui in Nirmal Nagar in Bandra on Saturday evening. The police have recovered 28 live cartridges and two mobile phones from the accused. Further investigation is underway into the conspiracy behind the suspected murder of Siddiqui by three people who came here on September 2 after taking a contract.

He said that the Mumbai Police managed to arrest two of the three attackers soon after the attack on Siddiqui, while the third, identified as Shiv Kumar, managed to escape.

Earlier, the accused were brought to the court wearing ‘burqa’ and when the magistrate asked their name and age, one of them claimed that he was a minor. However, public prosecutor Gautam Gaikwad opposed it, saying that after taking him into custody on Saturday night, the police recovered an Aadhaar card which showed his date of birth as March 1, 2003, meaning he is 21 years old.

Meanwhile, Siddiqui was cremated with full state honours at the Bada Kabristan in Bandra on Sunday evening. A large number of politicians, Bollywood celebrities and thousands of supporters attended the funeral procession.

Due to this rivalry, Manjeet Dhanda along with his associates opened fire on Sandeep.
