New Delhi, April 26 . The Delhi government has taken a major initiative to revive the Yamuna river and has decided to start the “Maa Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan” in the schools of the capital. This campaign has been initiated by Delhi Government’s Water Department Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh. He has written a letter to Education Minister Ashish Sood urging him to implement this special campaign in all government, aided and private schools in Delhi.

The main objective of this campaign is to increase sensitivity among children towards the importance of Yamuna river and connect them with the cleanliness movement. The minister said that if Yamuna is to be truly revived, then it has to be made a mass movement, in which active participation of children is especially necessary. Children will not only spread the message of awareness, but will also prepare a sensitive society for the future.

Under the “Maa Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan”, many important activities will be conducted with the children in Delhi schools. It will include essay writing, drawing and painting speech, debate competition, street plays, clean Yamuna pledge and awareness walk and cultural programs on annual festivals. The special thing is that all these activities will be done under Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan.

On this occasion, Pravesh Sahib Singh said, “Yamuna is not just a river, but the lifeline of Delhi. Taking inspiration from the Swachhata Abhiyan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are connecting children towards cleanliness and environmental protection through ‘Maa Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan’. If we educate our children about the importance of river and environment today, then tomorrow they will become aware citizens and play an important role in building a clean and green India. Without the cleanliness of Yamuna, the future of Delhi is incomplete.”

Under this initiative, Delhi Jal Board will provide support to schools in collaboration with the Directorate of Education with necessary educational material, awareness material and other resources. Schools will be advised to include these activities in their school calendar and motivate students to take forward the message of cleanliness and water conservation.

The government hopes that through this campaign, lakhs of children of Delhi will not only become aware themselves but will also spread the message of cleanliness and river conservation in their families and neighbourhoods. “Maa Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan” will be an important step towards bringing a new thinking and a new change in Delhi.

New Delhi, April 25 After the recent cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the central and state governments have become alert about Pakistani citizens living in India. In this regard, the Pune and Haryana administration have issued guidelines to the concerned departments while keeping a close watch on the situation.

Currently 111 Pakistani citizens are living in Pune district, out of which 91 people are in India on long-term visa. These include 35 men and 56 women, while 20 citizens are living on visitor visa.

According to the Foreigners Branch of the city police, so far three Pakistani citizens have left India.

Pune Collector Jitendra Dudi said that most of the Pakistani citizens have come to India to meet their relatives or for the purpose of medical treatment. Long-term visa is valid for five years, while the duration of visitor visa is only 90 days.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack and said, “Such acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances.” He has directed all the district Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the state to strictly implement the instructions of the Home Ministry related to the visa of Pakistani citizens.

According to the order, all Pakistani citizens will have to leave Haryana by April 27. Medical visa holders have been given time till April 29. At the same time, these instructions will not apply to long-term visas, diplomatic and official visas.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also given orders to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students studying in colleges and universities across the state. He also made it clear that any attempt to disturb the peace in the state will be dealt with strictly.

Here, the CM of Chhattisgarh said that the order of the Central Government will be followed. He said that the government will follow the instructions of the Union Home Minister and steps will be taken in this direction.

New Delhi, April 25 . A meeting was held at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday regarding the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty. In a nearly 45-minute long meeting between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, ways to stop the water going to Pakistan were seriously discussed.

According to sources, three major options, short-term, medium-term and long-term, were considered in the meeting. The government has a clear intention not to let even a drop of water go to Pakistan.

After the meeting, it was decided that work would be started immediately on every possible way to stop the water. Officials have been instructed to take immediate steps in this direction.

Earlier, Jal Shakti Ministry Secretary Devshree Mukherjee had written a letter to Pakistan’s Water Resources Ministry Secretary Syed Ali Murtaza. Through the letter, she formally informed Pakistan about the decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty with immediate effect.

The letter said that this is in the context of notices sent by the Government of India to the Government of Pakistan, seeking amendments to the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 (Treaty) under Article 12 (3) of the Treaty. The notices mention changing circumstances, such as a huge increase in population, the need for clean energy development and changes in fundamental assumptions related to water sharing.

India says that for these reasons, it is necessary to re-examine the obligations under various articles and contracts of the treaty. The letter also accuses Pakistan of violating the treaty.

India said that Pakistan has continuously promoted cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, due to which security uncertainties have hindered India from fully exercising its rights under the treaty. In addition, Pakistan did not respond to India’s request to start talks under the treaty, which is a complete violation of the treaty.

Debashree Mukherjee had clarified in the letter that the decision to suspend the treaty has been taken by the Government of India after deep deliberations. The Indian government has decided that the Indus Water Treaty 1960 will be suspended with immediate effect.

It is worth noting that the Indus Water Treaty was signed between India and Pakistan in 1960 under the mediation of the World Bank, under which India kept the right to use the water of the three eastern rivers, while the flow of the three western rivers was given to Pakistan.

New Delhi, April 25  Raja Iqbal Singh of BJP became the new mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD). In his first reaction after being elected as the mayor, he expressed gratitude to the top leadership of the party. He announced to end the user charges.

The new mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Raja Iqbal Singh, while talking to the media said, I thank the top leadership of the party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and all the corporation councilors, MLAs, MPs. Today I got a chance to serve. In the last two and a half years, under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), we will try to improve the condition of the corporation within three months and show it to the public.

He said, cleanliness in Delhi, removing the mountain of garbage, solving the problem of waterlogging before the upcoming monsoon will be the priority. By working with the Delhi government in these areas, we will try to ensure that the public does not face any kind of problem. For the last two and a half years, the condition of the parks is bad, our effort will be to make them green. We will take Delhi towards greenery. We will end corruption inside the corporation.

Taking a dig at the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, he said, ‘AAP’ has cheated the people of Delhi in connivance with senior officials. They have shown their double character. We will abolish the user charge. The level of education inside the corporation has decreased, we will motivate the teachers and give scholarships and dress money to the children on time, so that the children can study well.

With Raja Iqbal becoming the mayor, now the BJP’s ‘triple engine’ government has come to power in the national capital Delhi. There is already a BJP government at the Center and the Assembly. Now the BJP has also captured the mayor’s seat.

The BJP had won all the seven seats in Delhi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the assembly elections held in February this year, it also secured an absolute majority and formed the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

New Delhi, April 25 . There is an atmosphere of anger across the country over the Pahalgam terror attack. Everyone is demanding strict action against the terrorists. Meanwhile, on Friday, during Friday prayers in many states of the country including Delhi, people of the Muslim community protested by tying black bands on their hands. They also demanded strict action against the terrorists from the government.

AIMIM spokesperson Shoaib Jamai, while talking to IANS, said, “What happened in Pahalgam is very unfortunate for the country and we curse the terrorists who carried out this heinous incident. Our party’s national president Asaduddin Owaisi protested against the Pahalgam terror attack. He has also said in the all-party meeting held on Thursday that he will stand with the government in every step. Today, Friday prayers were offered by tying black bands on hands in protest against the Pahalgam attack.”

He further said, “The government should also be asked why there was no security despite Jammu and Kashmir being a very sensitive area? The tourists themselves have said that Kashmiris helped us and saved our lives. But, people kept suffering for an hour after the incident, but no relief reached them. The government has also admitted that there has been a security lapse, but whatever action the government takes to eliminate the terrorists, we stand with the government. However, some people sitting in our country are trying to create a rift between Hindus and Muslims under the guise of this incident, which is a matter of concern for us.”

Jumma ki namaz was offered peacefully at Jama Masjid in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. During this, prayers were also offered for peace in the country and for the peace of the souls of the tourists killed in the Pahalgam attack.

Namaz-e-Zeeshan Ansari said in a conversation with IANS that prayers were offered for the victims of Pahalgam during the Friday prayers. We appeal that peace and harmony should prevail in the country and we express our condolences to all those who have been killed in Pahalgam.

Namaz Mohammad Aslam said that humanity has been murdered in Pahalgam. Neither any Hindu nor any Muslim has died in the Pahalgam attack, but only humanity has been killed there. I am saddened by the death of the tourists and would appeal to everyone to pray for the families of the deceased.

Namaz Saif Qureshi condemned the Pahalgam attack. He said that during Friday prayers, prayers were offered for the dead in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident of Pahalgam is condemnable, terrorists have no religion or caste. We oppose this terrorist incident and demand that the government take strict action against the terrorists.

Apart from this, another Namazi said that Imam Sahab offered prayers for the people killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack during Friday prayers. He appealed to maintain brotherhood and peace in the country.

People of the Muslim community protested outside the Asifi Mosque in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, after the Friday prayers. During this, they demanded strict action against the terrorists. They also raised slogans of ‘Murdabad’ against Pakistan.

A protest was also held in Teele Wali Mosque of Lucknow regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Imam Fazlul Mannan Rahmani of Teele Wali Mosque told IANS, “I had appealed to all the people to protest against the Pahalgam terrorist attack and said that during Friday prayers, they should come to offer namaz with black bands tied on their hands. Today we have offered Friday prayers with black bands tied on them. I condemn the Pahalgam attack and I will say that whatever decision the Indian government takes, the Muslims of the country stand with them. If India fights a war, then our army has full support.”

People of the Muslim community in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, offered Friday prayers with black bands tied on them. During this, they demanded strict action against Pakistan.

Talking to IANS, Namaji said that we condemn the cowardly act that has been committed in Kashmir. Pakistan does not want Kashmir to develop, that is why Pakistan continuously prepares terrorists and carries out attacks here. I will appeal to the government that they should keep a strict vigil on the border area so that no one can enter India without permission.

Namaji Arbaaz said that since the Pahalgam attack, our blood is boiling, the way the terrorists have shed the blood of our brothers. The central government should take strict action against them.

New Delhi, April 16 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan reacted after the hearing on Wednesday on the petitions filed in the Supreme Court against the Waqf Act. He said that we are hopeful that we will get relief from the Supreme Court regarding the Waqf Act.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, while talking to the media, said, “This Act has been brought to occupy the Waqf lands. We are hopeful that we will get relief from the Supreme Court regarding the Waqf Act.”

MLA Amanatullah Khan said, “I have been the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. There are 1,977 Waqf properties in Delhi, all of which are notified in the gazette. The areas are also clearly mentioned in the gazette. During my tenure as chairman, we won all the cases. The central government had once issued a notification for 123 properties – all dargahs – which they took under their control, but I did not agree with it, so I challenged it in the High Court and got all those dargahs back. The administrative control is still with the Delhi Waqf Board and the case is also going on.” He said, “The Government of India claimed that the Waqf has illegally occupied 123 government lands, if I had not gone to the High Court in the case, all that land would have gone. We took the matter to the tribunal and also knocked the doors of the High Court, where we got justice.” Meanwhile, after hearing on the petitions challenging the Waqf Amendment Act, Advocate Reena while talking to the media said, “The hearing in this case was going on since 2 pm on Wednesday, which will continue further. The court had prepared a list of lawyers of both the parties, on the basis of which arguments were presented. We have also filed an intervention application in the case. Now the hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday).”

New Delhi, April 16 . Councillors of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday staged a strong protest at the Municipal Commissioner’s office in Civic Center, demanding exemption in house tax and implementation of the proposal to make 12 thousand temporary employees of the Municipal Corporation permanent.

All AAP councillors, led by Delhi Mayor Mahesh Kumar and Leader of the House Mukesh Goyal, reached the office of Municipal Commissioner Ashwani Kumar to meet him, but he had already left the office.

Mahesh Kumar alleged that he was already informed that AAP councillors were coming to meet him, yet they deliberately made an excuse and left. Mayor Mahesh Kumar said that proposals regarding exemption in house tax and regularization of 12 thousand employees have been passed in the corporation, but the Municipal Commissioner is not implementing them yet.

He said that these proposals passed in the interest of the public should be implemented with immediate effect. The Municipal Commissioner has imposed user charges on the people of Delhi without the approval of the House and the knowledge of the Mayor.

He said that Aam Aadmi Party opposes this and demands that this additional charge be withdrawn immediately. The Municipal Commissioner has taken this decision at the behest of BJP, so that Aam Aadmi Party can be defamed.

AAP councillors also waited for the Municipal Commissioner sitting in the office, but when he did not return, the councillors registered their protest by raising slogans and returned from there.

Mahesh Kumar said that the public is already troubled by inflation and tax burden and now their problems have increased further due to user charges.

He reiterated that Aam Aadmi Party will continue to fight for the rights of the people and their movement will continue until the proposals are implemented.
