New Delhi, August 11 . Delhi BJP leader Rekha Gupta and Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, along with other MLAs, took out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ (Tricolour Procession) within the Delhi Assembly complex on Monday. Minister Ravinder Indraraj Singh said, “Today, we are not merely taking out a Tiranga Yatra; every citizen of the country is connected to it. From Yoga Day to other national occasions, the Prime Minister has transformed various events into nationwide movements. The Tricolour resides deep within our hearts and stands as a symbol of our honour, pride, and dignity.”

BJP MLA Shikha Roy said, “The Tricolour represents our honour, dignity, and pride. It is a matter of pride and joy for us.” “As we enter the month of August, we all await August 15th with the same eagerness as we do our birthdays or family celebrations. The message behind this ‘Tiranga Yatra’ is simply that our Tricolour should continue to fly proudly across the globe. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the prestige of the Tricolour has grown manifold worldwide, and we wish for that honour to be upheld. We must strive together to ensure this flag flies even higher; that is the message we wish to convey.”

MLA Ajay Mahawar said, “This is a moment of immense pride for the people of India. Independence Day is a significant occasion for all Indians, and therefore, on the final day of the session, all MLAs are taking out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ within the Assembly complex, led by the Chief Minister.”

MLA Anil Goyal said, “The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ symbolises our honour, my self-respect, and the nation’s freedom—a freedom for which thousands sacrificed their lives. Today, in honour of the Tricolour, our Chief Minister is leading this ‘Tiranga Yatra’ at the Assembly.”

Ranchi, August 4  Thousands of people paid heartfelt tributes to ‘Dishom Guru’ Shibu Soren—the iconic leader of the Jharkhand movement and founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)—on his first death anniversary on Tuesday at Nemra, his ancestral village in Ramgarh district.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren unveiled a 14-foot-tall statue and became emotional while paying his respects. During the ceremony, the CM also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹102.5 crore. The Chief Minister stated that this day marks an irreparable loss not only for his family but for the entire state of Jharkhand.

He noted that it was on this day that ‘Dishom Guru’ breathed his last, and the void left by him can never be filled. He added that Shibu Soren dedicated his entire life to protecting *Jal, Jungle, Zameen* (water, forests, and land) and tribal identity; his memories and struggles will continue to inspire future generations.

He remarked that the 14-foot statue installed at Nemra would serve as a medium to connect the new generation with their history and struggles. Today’s youth should know how the people of this region endured exploitation even after independence and how their ancestors waged a long struggle against it. He emphasized that a society can build a better future only by remembering its history.

During his address, the Chief Minister became emotional when he mentioned the memorial of his grandfather, Sobran Manjhi, located near the venue. He recalled that his grandfather had been killed by anti-social elements. Although he had not even been born at that time, such forces still exist in society today. He stated that the answer to such challenges lies in mutual unity, brotherhood, and respect for one another.

The Chief Minister observed that while some people are attempting to divide society, Jharkhand’s strength lies in its unity. He stated that thousands of people have gathered across various parts of the state today to pay tribute to ‘Dishom Guru,’ a testament to the public’s unwavering respect and faith in him. He noted that the dream of a separate Jharkhand state became a reality thanks to the struggles of Dishom Guru and other valiant heroes of the Jharkhand movement; now, the responsibility of taking the state to new heights of development lies with all of us.

He added that the government is striving to ensure that the benefits of schemes reach the last person in line and that everyone participates in the development process. Paying homage to all the martyrs of the Jharkhand movement, the Chief Minister remarked that the state’s future can be strengthened only by drawing inspiration from their struggles.

New Delhi, May 17 Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government is working extensively to empower women in the capital to become self-reliant, entrepreneurs, and economically empowered. To this end, the government has provided collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 crore for women self-help groups and startups, guaranteed by the Delhi government itself.

The Chief Minister announced that the Delhi government will now regularly provide appropriate platforms for indigenous products in malls and large shopping complexes, where local products can find a wider market.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was addressing the inauguration of the two-day ‘Mega Self Help Group (SHG) Mela-2026’ held at Unity One Mall, near Rohini West Metro Station in northwest Delhi on Saturday evening. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is continuously presenting the vision of ‘adopting indigenous products’, ‘self-reliant India’, and ‘one district, one product’ to the country. Furthering this vision, this fair is a powerful effort to promote indigenous products made by women and connect them to the market.

Member of Parliament Yogendra Chandolia, MLA Kulwant Rana, North West District District Magistrate Soumya Saurabh, senior district administration officials, representatives from various banking institutions, and a large number of women associated with self-help groups were present on this occasion. The fair was organized by the North West District Administration.

The Chief Minister said that the country’s women, through small industries and handmade products, are not only increasing their family income but also strengthening the country’s economy. He said that people often chase foreign brands, while Indian handicrafts, khadi, home-made products, and handmade items are incomparable in quality. The only need is better branding and marketing.

He said that today, India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance in every sector, including defense, space, agriculture, and manufacturing, and Indian products are being exported worldwide. Therefore, there is a need to give national and international recognition to the home-made and handmade products made by women. The Chief Minister appealed to the people to use more local and indigenous products instead of foreign goods.

The Chief Minister said that the Delhi government wants every woman in the capital to join self-help groups, produce their own products, and market them. He said that the government is also making efforts to provide easy loans to women through banks. Various banks were also involved in this fair to strengthen the banking and financial access of self-help groups.

According to the Chief Minister, the Delhi government has arranged for collateral-free loans of up to ₹10 crore for women self-help groups and startups, which are being guaranteed by the Delhi government itself. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to conserve fuel, use public transport, and adopt indigenous products. The Delhi government is also promoting campaigns like “Monday Metro” and “No Vehicle Day” to save fuel and boost the national economy. He said that if people make small changes to their daily routine, the country will directly benefit.

Approximately 24 self-help groups participated in this mega fair. Handicrafts, crochet work, khadi, household products, food items, and other handmade items were exhibited and sold. Handicrafts from North West District were specially showcased under the “One District, One Product” campaign. The Chief Minister congratulated the district administration and all participants involved in the event, stating that such events play an important role in strengthening a self-reliant India and the indigenous economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
