New Delhi :The ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, a premier institution and the cradle of India’s Green Revolution, is organizing the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2026 from 25–27 February 2026 at the Mela Ground, IARI, Pusa campus, New Delhi.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on 25 February 2026 . The theme of this year’s Mela is “Viksit Krishi – Atmanirbhar Bharat”, emphasizing sustainable, climate-resilient, and income-oriented agricultural development to strengthen farmers’ livelihoods and national food security.

The Mela will be inaugurated by Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Government of India, as the Chief Guest.

Dr L. Jat, Secretary DARE & Director General ICAR will also grace the occasion as Guest of Honour.

Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela serves as a flagship national platform that bridges scientific research with farmers’ fields by showcasing advanced crop varieties, climate-smart technologies, precision farming tools, water-saving solutions, natural and organic farming models, and digital agriculture innovations. More than 1 lakh farmers from across the country will have the opportunity to interact directly with scientists and experts for location-specific solutions to their field problems.

In recognition of farmers’ contributions to grass-root innovations and sustainable agriculture, 7 progressive farmers from across the country will be conferred with the IARI Fellow Farmer Award and 36 farmers will be honoured with IARI Innovative Farmer Award during this Mela.

In a significant new initiative, ICAR–IARI has instituted a “Young Farmer Award” for the first time, marking a new paradigm to attract youth towards agriculture by recognizing young achievers who have adopted scientific, entrepreneurial, and technology-driven farming practices.

Aligned with the theme, the Mela will highlight solutions for climate change adaptation, water conservation, soil health management, input-use efficiency, crop diversification, and value addition. Special emphasis will be laid on:

Agricultural Schemes & Farmer Support Initiatives

Many farmers are unable to access benefits of Govt. schemes due to lack of awareness. This attraction bridges the information gap between policy and practice, enabling farmers to fully utilize government support mechanisms. The Mela will provide comprehensive information on major central and state government agricultural welfare schemes, subsidies, crop insurance, agricultural credit facilities, and digital farmer services at a single platform.

Crop Diversification & Climate-Resilient Agriculture

Climate variability poses a major risk to farm incomes. This attraction encourages farmers to move away from monocropping and adopt resilient, sustainable systems that ensure income stability.

Exhibits will focus on crop diversification, drought- and heat-tolerant varieties, alternative crops, climate-smart farming practices, risk management strategies, and adaptive agricultural models suited to changing climatic conditions.

Empowerment of Women and Youth in Agriculture

Women and youth are pivotal for the future of agriculture. This attraction positions agriculture as a modern, profitable, and dignified enterprise while promoting rural employment and entrepreneurship.
Dedicated sections will showcase women- and youth-led agri-enterprises, value addition models, nutrition-based agriculture, start-ups, and skill development initiatives.

Agricultural Marketing, Farmer Organizations & Start-upsPost-harvest losses and weak market access reduce farmers’ profitability. This section helps farmers to understand market dynamics, collective bargaining through FPOs, and pathways to better price realization.

The Mela will highlight agricultural marketing systems, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), agri-startups, value chains, processing technologies, and direct market linkage models.

Digital Agriculture Solutions

Recently India has organized AI summit of a global level, and the digital agriculture is the future. Digital agriculture improves efficiency, reduces input costs, and minimizes risk. This attraction prepares farmers to adopt future-ready technologies for precise and profitable farming.

During the mela, digital platforms, mobile-based advisory services, sensors, data-driven decision tools, AI/IoT-enabled smart farming solutions, and precision agriculture technologies will be demonstrated.

 Innovations in Agricultural Science

Innovation is the backbone of sustainable agriculture. This attraction demonstrates how scientific research directly addresses field-level challenges faced by farmers.

Displays will include improved crop varieties, biofertilizers, soil testing tools, residue management technologies, post-harvest innovations, and cutting-edge scientific solutions developed by ICAR–IARI.

Live Crop Demonstrations & Sale of Pusa Seeds

“Seeing is believing” for farmers. Live demonstrations build confidence, accelerate adoption of new technologies, and ensure access to reliable, high-quality seed material.

Live field demonstrations of crops and farming practices will be organized, along with information and availability of improved and quality Pusa seeds developed by ICAR–IARI.Overall Significance of the Major Attractions

  • Strengthen the Lab-to-Land continuum
  • Focus on reducing cost of cultivation, enhancing income, and managing risk
  • Empower small and marginal farmers, women, and youth
  • Translate the vision of “Viksit Krishi – Atmanirbhar Bharat” into field-level impact
  • The Mela will feature a wide array of ICAR–IARI developed technologies, including live demonstrations on climate-resilient crop varieties of wheat, chickpea, lentils, mustard, vegetables, and flowers; biofortified cereals and pulses, quality seed technologies, Pusa Decomposer for eco-friendly residue management, Pusa STFR Meter for rapid soil testing, biofertilizers for improving soil health, Integrated Farming System, Hi-Tech Horticulture, Vertical Farming, Hydroponics, Precision irrigation solutions, Sensor-based crop monitoring, AI- and IoT-enabled farm machinery, and non-chemical post-harvest technologies to reduce losses and enhance value addition.

Free and hygienic food will be provided to registered farmers during the Mela days, reflecting ICAR–IARI’s commitment to farmer welfare and inclusivity.

  • Transportation & Accessibility: To facilitate easy access, free transportation services will operate from Pusa Gate to the Mela venue at regular intervals. Special arrangements have been made for elderly farmers, women, and differently-abled visitors to ensure smooth mobility within the campus.
  • Seed Sale with Farmer Convenience: The sale of Pusa seeds has been organized in a farmer-friendly and streamlined manner, minimizing waiting time and congestion. To ease the physical burden on farmers, electric vehicles (EVs) will be deployed to transport purchased seeds from the Mela grounds to the IARI exit gates, ensuring hassle-free movement.
  • Cultural Evening & Social Engagement: Two cultural evenings on 25th and 26th February 2026 are being arranged by our media partner All India Radio to provide a relaxed and engaging environment for farmers after a day of technical interactions. New Delhi: Hindu College marked its 127th Founder’s Day with great enthusiasm and solemnity, commemorating the rich legacy of its visionary founder, Krishna Das Gurwale. The momentous occasion paid tribute to the institution’s historic contribution to nation-building and reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and societal leadership.

The celebration was graced by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission, Government of India, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Principal Prof. Anju Srivastava presented the Annual Report, highlighting the college’s year-long infrastructural advancements, significant research initiatives, and the remarkable academic accomplishments of its students, including outstanding performances in sports at both national and international levels. She also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of faculty members in the spheres of research, publications, and academic leadership. Reaffirming the institution’s enduring vision, she emphasised that Hindu College remains steadfast in its commitment to nation-building by fostering academic excellence, encouraging innovation, and nurturing a strong sense of social responsibility among its students.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ajay Kumar reflected on the historic role of Hindu Colleg

e in India’s intellectual and freedom movements. “When Hindu College was born, the question before India was simple yet profound: Can we be free? And Hindu College answered that question not just in thought, but in action,” he remarked, recalling the institution’s active role during India’s freedom struggle.

Turning to contemporary challenges, he posed a question to the young audience: “In a world changing faster than any generation has known, can we be great again? And if so, how?” He identified two transformative developments shaping India’s future: the nation’s imminent historic takeoff and the arrival of the age of Artificial Intelligence. Describing this as a watershed moment for India, he stated that Artificial Intelligence offers an unprecedented opportunity to move from scarcity to surplus, ensuring better healthcare, improved education, and enhanced nutrition for all, not just for a privileged few. He emphasized that India can achieve this transformation in a shorter time span than many developed nations did, provided the country navigates this transition intelligently and collectively.

“You are part of a 127-year legacy,” Dr Ajay Kumar told the students, “but you are not merely custodians of its memory; you are architects of its future.” He urged the institution to remain a beacon of intellectual courage, fearless debate, and human values in times of rapid technological disruption. Stressing the importance of ethical leadership in the age of AI, he remarked, “The question is not whether AI will shape India’s future; we know it will. The question is whether we will shape AI, or let AI shape us.”

The event also featured the felicitation of College and University Toppers, who were awarded by the Chief Guest for their outstanding academic achievements.

The Chief Guest Dr. Ajay Kumar also visited the student stalls showcasing a wide range of themes, including Outreach and International Collaborations, Research and Innovation, Skill Development, Student Progression, Sustainable Practices, Diversity and Inclusivity, Ideation and Innovation, Personality Development, Startups and Entrepreneurship, NCC, NSS, and Sports. He highly appreciated the students’ creativity, dedication, and hard work, and commended their efforts in presenting innovative ideas with clarity and confidence

The celebrations concluded with vibrant cultural performances presented by various student societies, captivating the audience and reflecting the dynamic creative spirit of the campus.

New Delhi, February 13  Three crucial matches will be played on Friday in the T20 World Cup 2026. Teams from different groups will take the field and try to strengthen their position in the points table.

The first match is from Group B, which will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Australia and Zimbabwe will face each other in this match. This is the 19th match of the tournament. The match will start at 11:00 am IST.

Both teams have started their campaigns with wins. Australia defeated Ireland by 67 runs in their first match, while Zimbabwe defeated Oman by 8 wickets. This match could prove crucial for the top spot in Group B.

The second match is from Group D, which will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This match will be between Canada and the United Arab Emirates. The match will begin at 3:00 PM IST.

Both teams lost their first match. Canada was defeated by South Africa by 57 runs, while the United Arab Emirates lost by 10 wickets against New Zealand. The losing team in this match could face a difficult path to the next round.

The third match will be played between the United States and the Netherlands. This match will begin at 7:00 PM IST at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The Netherlands defeated Namibia in their second match after losing to Pakistan. Meanwhile, the United States has lost both of its matches so far. They lost the first match against India by 29 runs, and the second match against Pakistan by 32 runs. If the United States loses this match as well, it will be almost impossible for them to reach the next stage.

Thus, Friday will be a crucial day for the tournament, as these matches will determine the future course of action for many teams.

New Delhi, Feb 13 The address of the Prime Minister’s Office in the national capital, Delhwill change from Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new office, ‘Seva Teerth’, featuring a hi-tech office and a smart grid. A picture of his new office has also been released.

Prime Minister Modi will unveil the naming ceremony for the ‘Seva Teerth’ building complex at around 1:30 pm. He will then formally inaugurate Seva Teerth, Kartavya Bhavan-1, and Kartavya Bhavan-2. The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting at Seva Teerth at around 6 pm.

Seva Teerth will house the Prime Minister’s Office. In addition, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat, which were previously located in different locations, will also be located.

Kartavy Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2 will house several key ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

For decades, many key government offices and ministries operated from fragmented and outdated infrastructure spread across multiple locations in the Central Vista area. This dispersion of key offices led to operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges, rising maintenance costs, and an unsuitable working environment. These problems will now be addressed by consolidating administrative functions within a new building complex equipped with modern and future-ready facilities.

Both building complexes feature digitally integrated offices, streamlined public contact areas, and centralized reception facilities. These features will promote collaboration, efficiency, smooth operations, enhanced citizen engagement, and employee well-being. Designed in accordance with 4-star GRIHA standards, these complexes incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance building structures.

These measures will enhance operational efficiency and significantly reduce environmental impact. The building complexes also incorporate comprehensive security systems, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for officials and visitors.

New Delhi: As technology redraws the contours of the modern world, Hindu College is positioning itself at the cusp of that change. With the theme “Empowering Minds, Transforming Futures,” the college on Tuesday announced the setting up of its AI & Information Systems Lab, an initiative that signals a deeper shift in how students are being prepared for the decades ahead.
In a digital economy moving at breakneck speed, Artificial Intelligence is no longer an optional add-on to learning. It is the infrastructure beneath innovation itself, reshaping governance, accelerating economic growth, and redefining how societies solve problems. As India asserts itself as a global digital hub, AI skills are emerging as a new literacy, one that will determine not just employability, but agency. The goal, principal Prof. Anju Srivastava said, is to help students become creators and critical thinkers, not passive users of technology.

That vision framed the AI Awareness and Talent Conclave, organised by Hindu College as part of the pre-summit activities for the AI Impact Summit 2026 under the India AI Mission. Designed to demystify AI and anchor it in real-world contexts, the conclave brought students face-to-face with industry practitioners who spoke about emerging trends, evolving career pathways, and the growing intersections between AI, research, innovation and start-up ecosystems.

Welcoming the speakers, Prof. Anju Srivastava, Principal Hindu College underlined the broader educational value of artificial intelligence. “Teaching AI sharpens analytical thinking, strengthens data literacy and builds problem-solving skills that cut across disciplines. Exposure to AI equips young Indians to design indigenous solutions, technologies rooted in local realities rather than imported templates,” said Prof. Srivastava.

Industry leaders echoed that urgency. Varun Sachdeva, Senior Vice President and APAC Head at NLB Services, cautioned against viewing AI purely through the lens of job displacement. The real transformation, he said, lies in how work itself is changing. For students and young professionals, this means learning to adapt, building relevant skills, remaining flexible, and understanding what industry now expects from a workforce shaped by intelligent systems. “Aligning academic learning with real-world applications is no longer optional in an AI-driven economy,” said Sachdeva.

Offering a closer look at how the AI sector is reorganising itself, Dr. Amit Andre, Founder and CEO of The DataTech Labs Inc., outlined two roles gaining prominence: prompt engineers, who shape interactions with AI systems, and domain experts, whose subject knowledge is critical for validating, interpreting and contextualising AI-generated outputs. Even as machines grow more capable, he argued, human judgment remains indispensable, especially when it comes to accuracy, ethics and relevance.
Students responded with curiosity and candour, using the question-and-answer sessions to probe how AI could be harnessed for meaningful, real-world impact.

Back on campus, the forthcoming AI lab is being seen as more than just new infrastructure. For students, it promises hands-on learning, experimentation and a mindset attuned to the future. For faculty, it opens avenues for applied research, interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships that extend beyond traditional academic boundaries.
