Chinese company VIVO will not be a sponsor of IPL, decision decided after heavy opposition

There is still more than a month left for the IPL 2020 to begin. Earlier, BCCI has started looking for new title sponsors. According to media reports, Chinese mobile company Vivo will not be a sponsor of IPL. The IPL is to conclude a five-year agreement with Vivo in 2022. The board gets Rs 440 crore every year under the contract.

Since the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in eastern Ladakh, many people have spoken of boycotting Chinese goods. At the same time, the BCCI also promised to review the agreement.
Significantly, in the IPL Governing Council meeting on Sunday, people had protested on social media even after they had decided to continue the agreement with Vivo. The next day there was a meeting with all the franchisees.

Not only this, but the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also protested on Monday as the sponsor of the Chinese mobile company. Now a day after this, news of Vivo’s withdrawal from sponsorship came out. Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) said on Monday that people should consider boycotting the T20 Cricket League.

IPL 2020 will start from 19 September
Let us know that the IPL will be in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November. The tournament will have 10 doubleheaders i.e. 2-2 matches in a day. The evening matches will start half an hour before the old schedule i.e. 7.30 pm. The afternoon matches will take place from 3.30 pm. November 10 is Tuesday. This will be the first time in the history of IPL when the finals will be played on Week-Day.
