Cyber Awareness Camapaign in Delhi University

North Disrict Police along with Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board began yet another chapter under the ‘Advik ‘ programme of constructive dialogue with the students of Delhi University . Under this programme cyber safety awareness will be imparted to 32, 000 young women studying under NCWEB across 27 centres of Delhi University . These young women have tremenduous potential and will be the Brand Ambassadors of Delhi Police in spreading cyber safety awareness across the vast cross section of society .

Today the inaugural of this series of lectures on Cyber safety was held at Miranda House . It was chaired jointly by – Proctor Delhi University – Mrs Rajni Abbi , Principal Miranda House- Prof Bijayalaxmi Nanda , Professor Geeta Bhatt (Director NCWEB) , DCP North Sh. Sagar Singh Kalsi and Dr Rakshit Tandon Cyber security Evangelist and expert. It was attended by 5oo plus young students and faculty of NCWEB .

The message of cyber safety was communicated through engaging discussions and live examples and case studies that made an immediate impact on the young impressionable minds . Proctor Mrs Rajni Abbi emphasised how this needs to be a two way engagement wherein female students will be trained and motivated to become Partners of Delhi Police in proactively preventing cyber crime through awareness. DCP North Sh Sagar Singh Kalsi along with Dr Rakshit Tandon captivated the young minds with their practical examples and reinforced basic tips for cyber safety.

Going by the enthusiasm of the students and the interest they took , the programme has tremendous potential to build a fully cyber safe aware and empowered generation of women .
