Delhi gets new Chief Secretary, Dharmendra will take command

New Delhi: Dharmendra has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi. Dharmendra, a 1989 batch IAS officer, has worked in various important positions during his long and successful tenure.

Dharmendra’s administrative ability and leadership skills made him one of the top administrators of the country. He will take over as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi from September 1. He will replace the current Chief Secretary, Naresh Kumar.

The central government has issued a formal order for the appointment of Dharmendra. He is currently posted in Arunachal Pradesh. His appointment will start a new chapter in the Delhi government.

The order issued by the central government said that IAS Dharmendra is transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi. He will take over the responsibility of the new Chief Secretary from September 1.

Let us tell you that the name of Dharmendra, a 1989 batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, was at the forefront for the new Chief Secretary of Delhi. Dharmendra is currently the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh. He has been working on this post since 19 April 2022. Dharmendra did his B.Tech in Civil Engineering. He has worked for a long time as the Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council.

He has held many important responsibilities in various departments of the Delhi government. Apart from Divisional Commissioner cum Secretary in the Revenue Department of Delhi Government, he has held various posts in many departments, including Urban Development, Delhi Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, he has also served as Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments of the Central Government.

The tenure of the current Chief Secretary, Naresh Kumar, had already ended. However, the Central Government had given him an extension of service first for 6 months after November and then in the month of May.
