Delhi government to develop skills among the trainees to meet the market demands

NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited the polytechnic institutes at Dwarka and Rajokri today. He inquired about the educational activities, functioning, and requirements of both the institutions and directed them to adopt the courses that meet the market requirements. He said, “Both the institutes have good infrastructure and capable faculty. Courses of these institutes have become irrelevant due to their inadaptability with the changing times.” He added, “We have to lift the capital city as well as the nation from the economic downturn by developing skills as per the new market demand.”
During his visit to the World Class Center of the Integrated Institute of Technology, Dwarka, Shri Sisodia focused on the importance of these institutes. The Head of these institutes explained about their courses to Mr. Sisodia through a PowerPoint presentation. Mr. Sisodia said, “Delhi has laid a strong foundation in School Education. Now, concrete steps are being taken to lift the capital as well as the nation from the economic downturn by encouraging skill development and entrepreneurship.”
Mr. Sisodia said, “Technology is constantly changing across the world. The industry needs manpower equipped with state-of-the-art technology. We have to keep our courses dynamic so that with changing needs, we can make amendments in our courses to fulfill the market needs.”
Dy CM Manish Sisodia said, “Delhi has achieved great success in terms of school education. Now, our next step is to establish world-class institutions for skill development and entrepreneurship. For this, we are taking suggestions from all the ITIs, polytechnics, and skill development centers of Delhi.”
In 2019, the Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) Bill was passed by the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Mr. Sisodia has announced that focus on skill education will be his prime agenda during his second term as the Education Minister of Delhi.
