Farmer leaders end the hunger strike with ‘Ardas’ at Singhu border

NEW DELHI | Farmer leaders sitting on a day-long hunger strike have ended their hunger strike against three new agricultural laws passed by the central government. He ended his fast after Guru Nanak Dev’s Ardas.

Farmer leaders also appealed to the peasant leaders standing at other borders in Delhi like Ghazipur to end their day-long hunger strike. He also recited Gurbani during this time.

Slogans of Waheguru Ji’s Khalsa, Waheguru Ji’s Fateh were heard echoing at the protest site on the Singhu border and with these slogans, the farmers ended their fast.

After ending their strike, the peasant leaders drank water and ate fruits like apples and oranges.

He started his fast at eight o’clock on Monday morning.

Those on hunger strike included Gurnam Singh Chaduni from Haryana, Harinder Singh Lakhowal from Punjab and leaders of more than 30 farmer unions under the banner of United Kisan Morcha.

Farmers’ organizations are opposing the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement Act 2020, the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Simplification) Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities Amendment Act 2020 and are demanding their withdrawal.
