High Court: Center gave MP, Maharashtra more oxygen, then why did not increase Delhi’s quota

New Delhi| A hearing was also held on Thursday in the Delhi High Court on the issue of lack of oxygen and availability of oxygen in hospitals. During the hearing, the High Court asked the central government why Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra were given more oxygen when they asked for it, while Delhi’s allocation was not increased. A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli asked the Central Government this question to the Center. During the hearing, the bench said that the central government should either present cleanliness for this step or change its action.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that the central government will answer the court’s questions and will also explain what is the reason for giving more oxygen to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that there are many states which could get less oxygen than what they asked for. We are rationalizing it.

At the same time, Delhi Government lawyer Rahul Mehra placed before the court a list of oxygen demands made by many states and the oxygen allocated to them. Rahul Mehra said that only Delhi was not given the quota of oxygen that was being demanded. At the same time, other states were given oxygen more than what they demanded or according to demand.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court said that the Revenue Department of the Government of Delhi should issue an order to release the Remedicivir seized from hoarders and black marketers. A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli directed to ensure that the seized medicines did not remain with the police as a case property and could be given to needy patients. The court said that the police officers will immediately inform the revenue department’s deputy commissioner about the seized drug.
