In the explosion in Rawalpindi, 25 injured

RAWALPINDI| Around 25 people were injured in an explosion in a market area in Rawalpindi city of Pakistan. This information was given by the police.

According to the report of Xinhua, the city police officer Mohammad Ahsan Younus reported that the IED was planted under a hand-drawn vehicle and it was busy on Sunday near a police station, about 2 km from a military station in Ganj Mandi. The market exploded.

A rescue official told the media that they sent 22 injured to the local hospital, some of whom were in critical condition, while three others were discharged at the scene after first aid.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Younas further said that this was the second explosion near the police station during the last 10 days in the city.

Earlier on December 4, one person was killed and seven others were injured in an IED blast near the city’s Pir Vadhai police station.

The officer said, the Police Intelligence Department had already reported some possible terrorist attacks in the city and investigations are on to nab the culprits.
