Kovid vaccine to be available to ‘every American’ by April next year: Trump

US President Donald Trump has said that by April 2021, the coronavirus vaccine will be available to ‘every American’. For this, the US itself will produce a sufficient amount of coronavirus vaccine.

According to the news agency Xinhua, the president told reporters at the White House on Friday that at least 100 million doses of the vaccine will be available in the country by the end of the year, or ‘more will be available’.

“Millions of doses will be available every month, and we expect every American to get vaccinated by April. As vaccine availability increases, delivery will accelerate,” Trump said.

The president’s remarks come days after his claim that he said that the delivery of the coronavirus vaccine could begin in the US by early October.

“We are very close to getting the vaccine. We think we can start delivery sometime in October,” Trump said during a press conference on Wednesday.

However, on Wednesday, Robert Redfield, director of ‘US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’, told lawmakers that he expected vaccination to begin in November or December. The vaccines available in limited quantities will first be used for health care workers as these people are most in need of vaccine doses.

Redfield said the vaccine would be available to Americans in general from the second quarter of 2021 or the third quarter.
