Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “In the last 24 hours, I talked to many people about the lockdown. During this time a general opinion is being formed that the lockdown should be extended for a week in Delhi. If we just opened the lockdown then all the corona which we have controlled through the last 1 month of hard work, maybe useless. Therefore, the Delhi government has decided that the lockdown is being extended in Delhi for a week. ”
The Chief Minister said, “If the reduction of corona cases continues in this way, then the unlocking process will be started in Delhi from next week. Lockdown will not be removed immediately. Gradually, we will start some activities from May 31. Currently, the lockdown in Delhi is being increased. ”
Kejriwal said,” Our biggest priority is to get vaccines to 20 million people in Delhi. We have made a system in Delhi, under which the people of the entire Delhi can be vaccinated within 3 months. However, there is a shortage of vaccine due to which not enough vaccine is available. We are preparing in view of the third wave of Corona. If everyone gets vaccinated, there may not be the third wave of the corona. We can survive the third wave of Corona. ”
Announcing the lockdown, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Due to the discipline of the people of Delhi, now this most dangerous wave of Corona is now weakening. However, we will not say that the war is won. The fight is still on. Despite this, the corona appears to be controlled. It came on day 1 in the month of April when the corona infection rate had gone up to 36%. That is, 36 people were found to be corona positive after 100 tests of the corona. At the same time, the corona infection rate has been 2.5 percent in the last 24 hours. ”
There was a day in the month of April when 28 thousand new cases of the corona were reported in a single day. At the same time, sixteen hundred new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. Within Delhi, the speed of the corona has decreased significantly.
