Loot in Gwalior-Barauni Express, passenger shot at protesting

Muzaffarpur (Bihar)| Armed dacoits looted more than 10 passengers in Gwalior-Barauni Express between Dighwara and Sonpur station of Seanpur-Chapra railway block of Bihar and seriously injured a passenger when they protested. An official of the police said that the robbery was carried out in the Gwalior-Barauni Express train between Dighwara and Sonpur station, unidentified armed robbers on Wednesday night. In the meantime, on protesting the looting, he shot Shivam Yadav, a resident of Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, injuring him badly.

The injured passenger has been admitted to Chhapra Sadar Hospital. The number of dacoits is said to be 10 to 12, who boarded the train carrying hand-held weapons and desi katta. After this, miscreants in the moving train started looting.

Sonpur Rail Station in-charge Jai Singh said on Thursday that the police is investigating the incident. He claimed that the miscreants have been identified and raids are being conducted for arrest.
