Mamta to start election campaign in a wheelchair from Monday

Kolkata | West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will start her election campaign in a wheelchair from Monday. The Trinamool Congress supremo was discharged from the state’s SSKM hospital on Friday evening after undergoing treatment for the injuries suffered during the election campaign in Nandigram in East Midnapore earlier this week.

She will visit Purulia district for the first time, where the Trinamool chief is scheduled to address two public meetings – one in Jhalda area of Baghmandi and the other in Rathtala Maidan in Balrampur.

As per her first campaign schedule, she will visit two other districts – Bankura and Jhargram.

Sources said that CM will travel to all these districts by helicopter, but she will be sitting in a wheelchair as the injury to her leg has not fully recovered.

Banerjee suffered a leg injury during an election campaign in Nandigram on Wednesday evening.
