Modi’s attack on KCR, politics heats up

Hyderabad| Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attack on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government has triggered a war of words between the TRS and the BJP. Hitting back at Modi, TRS leaders questioned him as to what the BJP has done for Telangana in the last eight years, while the saffron party leaders have defended Modi.

Addressing BJP leaders and workers outside the city’s Begumpet airport during his brief visit to Hyderabad on Thursday, Modi addressed Chief Minister K. After launching a scathing attack on Chandrashekhar Rao, several ministers and TRS leaders retaliated.

Rejecting Modi’s allegations of family rule, TRS leaders cited examples of dynastic politics within the BJP. He alleged that the Prime Minister spoke against KCR and TRS because of his prejudice and jealousy towards Telangana.

Animal Husbandry Minister T. Srinivas Yadav on Friday said Modi made baseless allegations as Telangana could not digest the tremendous progress made under the TRS regime.

Srinivas Yadav termed Modi’s allegations that the TRS government has changed the names of central schemes.

Srinivas Yadav said that the Prime Minister should introspect why the Chief Minister is not welcoming him. He said that the PM knows nothing but to do drama, spew poison wherever elections are to be held and do fashion shows by changing 10 clothes every day.

Labor Minister Malla Reddy said he prayed at the Bhadrakali temple in Warangal to free India from BJP rule. He said that he expressed his desire to make KCR the prime minister before God.

Alleging that the BJP was destroying the country, he challenged the saffron party to implement the Dalit Bandhu scheme of Telangana in the states ruled by it.

Rejecting allegations of family rule, Civil Supplies Minister Gangul Kamalakar said CM KCR’s family actively participated in the Telangana agitation.

Meanwhile, Union Tourism and Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy rejected the criticism of Modi by TRS leaders. Reiterating the remarks made by the Prime Minister, he said that family-centric parties are responsible for corruption in the country.

The BJP leader told reporters that the TRS spent hundreds of crores in the Huzurabad bypoll but people voted for the candidate of their choice.

He said that no one from JP Nadda’s family will succeed him as BJP President and similarly no one from PM Narendra Modi’s family will become PM after him.

Kishan Reddy alleged that KCR went back on his promise to make a Dalit the first Chief Minister of Telangana. He challenged the TRS chief to now announce that the next chief minister would be a Dalit.
