Rating: 3.5 stars
Surely you will be surprised to know that the producer, director, writer of Murderbaad released this week, Arnab Chatterjee started working on the script of his film at the age of 14 and started shooting for the film last year when he turned 18. He shot at many outdoor locations in Rajasthan, West Bengal. He directed Anjan Srivastava, who is over 60, Amol Gupte as well as veteran actor Manish Chaudhary for this film.
During the media screening of this film, after the show of the film was over, Arnab came to Delhi from Kolkata especially to take the response of the critics at Delhi’s luxury Delight Diamond Cinema. His passion tells that in the coming days his name will be included in the list of famous directors of Bollywood. When we had a special conversation with him here, he told that making short films from the age of 8 was such an education that Having made a feature like Murderbaad, Arnab says that instead of setting up a studio and shooting the film comfortably, I shot it on real locations. I shot at many outdoor locations in Jaipur city of Rajasthan and a palace as well as many locations in New Jalpaiguri Guddi.
Story Plot
In my opinion, this film shows you horrifying and some gruesome scenes which you may not like to watch but the script demanded these scenes and they became an important part of the story. The question grips you, a group of tourists from different cities are staying in a hotel in Jaipur, among them is a tourist from London, the guide and the driver of the bus are staying in the same hotel with these tourists, suddenly one of the tourists disappears from here. This story revolves around the calm but horrifying background of this hotel built in a Rajasthani palace, murder, the disgusting truth of the post-mortem house and the crematorium, the climax of this thriller film will make you restless. This story of a tourist disappearing from the hotel soon presents the gruesome face of mysteries and a frustrated young man which will shock you.
Overall
The story of the film filled with romance, emotional feelings and mystery later turns into a dangerous form and enters a labyrinth from which it is not easy to get out. Director Arnab’s grip on the story and characters is weak in the beginning of the film but after the interval the film ties you to your seat, Arnab has taken good work from seasoned veteran actors as well as new comer stars. Nakul Sahdev and Kanika Kapoor’s pairing is solid but they still have a lot to learn to play a long innings in the film industry, Arnab’s film enters the Bengali background during the climax but it is an important mode of the film. We will not tell you the climax of the film at all, for this you will have to go to the cinema hall but the film will not fit on the criteria of family class but the audience watching something completely new and thriller will like the film.
