Music star Charlie Pride dies from Corona

LOS ANGELES| Famous American singer and guitarist Charlie Pryde has died of coronavirus infection. He was 86 years old. According to Variety.com’s report, the first black music superstar Pride, first indigenous to music, has died on December 12 in Dallas, Texas. His publicist shared this news.

Born in Mississippi in 1934, Pride once worked in cotton fields. He was also a professional baseball player and served in the US Army before moving to Nashville in 1963 to pursue a career in music. He became the first black superstar in country music and also the first black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. He had been one of the three black members of the Grand Ole Opry.
