New Delhi: On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Independence Day of India, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) – Chairperson, Shri Dharmendra unfurled and hoisted the National Flag in the premises of NDMC headquarter – Palika Kendra, in the capital at a simple and well-attended ceremony today.
While remembering and paying his tributes to the great freedom fighters and Jawans of Army and Paramilitary Forces who laid their lives for the Freedom of the Nation and protecting the boundaries of our countries from the enemy, Shri Dharmendra commended and lauded their role in the Freedom Movement.
He also recognized the commendable work of Corona warriors of NDMC like Doctors, Health workers and other officials, who devoted their duties for curbing the second wave of corona pandemic since starting of this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dharmendra said that as a civic body to deliver all essential services to the inhabitants of the New Delhi area during the lockdown period, our corona warriors performed their duty in appropriate manner and the credit of it goes to all ranks of NDMC, he added. He paid the tributes to the NDMC corona warriors, who sacrificed their lives while doing their duty for delivering uninterrupted essential services to the citizens of New Delhi area. He further said that everyone should come forward to re-dedicate himself with the sense of devotion, zeal and spirit to do their work to fight against Corona pandemic.
Calling upon the team NDMC, he said that we should perform our duty with a sense of dedication in a simple, effective, efficient and transparent manner by using the latest technology at every stage so as to attain the self-reliance by our limited resources for maximum output.
Before unfurling the National Flag, the Security and Fire Personnel of the NDMC gave guard of honour to the Chairperson-NDMC.
Thousands number of National flag were displayed at the electric poles in the entire NDMC. Apart from this 24 floral board congratulating citizens for 75th Independence Day along roadsides were also displayed in the New Delhi area by NDMC.
On the occasion, corona warriors, members of the sample survey team, door-to-door testing teams, Covid19 challanning teams, doctors, health workers, sanitation staff are specially invited by the Chairman, NDMC.
As a part of Independence Day celebration, the Education Department of NDMC organised online painting , Quiz competition, patriotic theme, poetry, patriotic songs and essay competition amongst the student of NDMC and Navyug Schools.
To celebrate the 75th Years of India’s Independence as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, NDMC launched an initiative to create awareness and motivate masses from 11th to 15th August for singing the National Anthem and upload on the website.
Secretary-NDMC, Dr. B.M Mishra, other Senior Officers and a large number of NDMC Staff were also participated in the Independence Day celebration.
