NDMC established a Toy Bank first of its kind for underprivileged children at Bapu Dham creche

New Delhi: With the aim to provide toys to the underprivileged children, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has established a Toy Bank first of its kind at Bapu Dham Creche, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

While inaugurating the toy bank MOH-NDMC, Dr. Ramesh Kumar said that the toy banks all over the world work on the principle of “Recycle Toys, Recycle smiles”. All Children should have an opportunity to play with toys are the first step of a child towards education. He also said that toys work towards mental development of children. This toy bank will work for underprivileged children of the area, who cannot afford to buy toys.

He further informed that due to the durability of material used most of them do not get degraded for years and add to soil pollution if not recycled or re-used. In this manner this concept promotes along with the 3R principle also prevention of pollution.

On the occasion Director Welfare- Praag K Karunakar, CMO- Dr. Gunjan Sahai, Nodal Officer (Swachh Survekshan)- Dr. Shakuntla Shrivastva, area sanitation staff and Crèche staff were also present.
