On this day, India had moved towards the moon, Chandrayaan-2 had embarked on a historic journey.

July 22, 2019. Day Monday Today was a very special day last year. Especially for scientists. India had made its move towards the moon. This journey started on this day in the year 2019. The Vikram Lander of India had embarked on a historic journey to meet Chanda Mama on board an indigenous powerful rocket.

India successfully launched its second lunar mission ‘Chandrayaan-2’ from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) on Monday. GSLV-Mark, the most powerful rocket named ‘Bahubali’. The M1 successfully placed the vehicle into orbit around 16 minutes after launch. The lander ‘Vikram’ was designed for India’s first successful landing on the lunar surface.

Built with indigenous technology, Chandrayaan-2 had a total of 13 payloads. In eight orbiters, three payload lander ‘Vikram’ and two payload rover ‘Pragyan’. The lander ‘Vikram’ was named after Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, the father of the Indian Space Research Program. Weighing 27 kilograms, ‘Pragyan’ means ‘intelligence’ in Sanskrit.

The success achieved in just 16 minutes
43.43 m long GSLV mark. The M-1 successfully orbited the Earth’s orbit, weighing 3,850 kg, 16 minutes 14 seconds after the launch of the clouds in the sky. The dream was that India would become the fourth country to make a soft landing on the lunar surface after Russia, America, and China with Chandrayaan-2. However, this dream later broke down after reaching very close. But this was the day when the whole country was awash with a hope of happiness.
