PM and Mamta Banerjee discussed the name change of Bengal, Corona vaccine, and development project

New Delhi| West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. During this, he asked for a corona vaccine in large quantity for West Bengal. The matter of changing the name of West Bengal was raised with the Prime Minister. Along with this, Mamta Banerjee also kept the subjects of various development works and taxes before the Prime Minister. Mamta Banerjee has reached Delhi for the first time after becoming the Chief Minister for the third time. Here at 4 pm, she reached the Prime Minister’s residence to meet Prime Minister Modi and her meeting lasted for about 45 minutes.

Mamta Banerjee said I had sought time from the Prime Minister. For the third time in Bengal elections, our government has come with the blessings of the people. After that, we have now come to meet the Prime Minister and the President. It was a common courtesy meeting. It is a protocol of our constitution.

Mamta Banerjee said, in this meeting, I discussed Corona with the Prime Minister. We told the Prime Minister that the vaccine we have received for the prevention of corona should be increased. According to the population of our state, we have got less vaccine than other states. Right now the rate of corona positive in us is around 1 percent.

Mamta Banerjee said we want that everyone should get the vaccine, we have discussed this with the Prime Minister. We have spoken to the Prime Minister about various projects in Bengal, about taxes. Also, there was a discussion with the Prime Minister about changing the name of Bengal. We have requested them regarding this.

Significantly, the West Bengal government wants to name the state ‘Bangla’. Mamta Banerjee said that the Prime Minister has carefully listened to all these subjects. On the subject of meeting the leaders of opposition parties, Mamta Banerjee said that many political parties and leaders of political parties are our old friends, so we are meeting them.

Mamta Banerjee said I have a meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. Sonia Gandhi has invited me for tea. We will discuss tea during this meeting.

Mamta Banerjee said that it is necessary to have both double dose of corona vaccine and RT PCR test negative to meet the President. We will take care of the President’s security, however, if possible, request a meeting with him. On Wednesday, Mamta Banerjee will also meet several MPs of her own party. Apart from this, she will meet many well-known personalities.

On the subject of bringing all the opposition parties together, Mamata Banerjee said that the Lok Sabha elections are still late but planning has to be done in advance. Anyway, there is an election in Uttar Pradesh, there is an election in Punjab, there is an election in Tripura. Our people have been arrested in Tripura.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that Prime Minister Modi should call an all-party meeting in the Pegasus phone tapping case. We want this matter to be investigated under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

Regarding the by-elections in Bengal, he said that we will see the decisions taken by the Election Commission and will fight these elections in due time. He said that the election cannot be stopped. Whenever these elections are held, his party will contest the elections.

On the effort to bring all the political parties together, Mamta Banerjee said that we have to move forward with hope. If there is no hope, then life is ruined.
