Superstar Rajinikanth Dadasaheb Phalke Award News: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that superstar Rajinikanth will be honored with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Javadekar made this announcement via Twitter and described Rajinikanth as one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema. Sharing a photo of the actor, he wrote, “I am very happy to announce the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2020, that this year it was Rajinikanth Ji, one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema, for his acting, production, and screenplay I will thank all the members of the jury, Asha Bhosle, Subhash Ghai, Mohanlal, and Biswajit Chatterjee, for the contribution made in writing.
Rajinikanth, one of the most popular stars in India, has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016 by the Government of India.
Rajinikanth made his debut in Tamil cinema with ‘Apoorva Ragangal’. Among his many hit films are ‘Basha’, ‘Shivaji’ and ‘Enthiran’. He is known among his fans as Thalaivar (leader).
