Terrorist attacks CRPF: Civilian and Armed force casualties in Sopore

Terrorist attacks a CRPF personnel & a civilian in North Kashmir’s Sopore. Three other CRPF personnel were injured by terrorists in the attack and have been shifted to a hospital. Civilian & Armed force casualties is there. Anantnag also suffered in the past.

Terrorist attacks CRPF road opening party

The terrorists had attacked CRPF’s road opening party when they were placing a check post along with personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police on the Sopore by-pass highway in Model Town of Sopore. Three other CRPF troopers were also injured in the terrorist attack and are being treated at a hospital, according to officials.

Civilian & Armed force casualties

A a 64-year-old man resident of Srinagar, was passing by in his vehicle when the attack happened and was killed in the firing, officials said. “His 3 year old grandson was also with him during the attack and taken away from the site of encounter. JKP rescued the boy from getting hit by bullets during terrorist attack in Sopore,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted. The child was seen sitting of his grandfather’s body.

The police said the terrorists fired indiscriminately at the patrol team, killing a jawan. The CRPF troops retaliated but the terrorists managed to escape.

Similar related Attacks in Anantnag

Last week, a six-year-old boy ( Little Nihaan Bhat) was killed during a terror attack on the CRPF in Anantnag.

Nihaan Bhat was sleeping in a parked car when he was hit by a bullet. Police say the terrorist was on a bike and opened fire from a pistol on a CRPF patrol. One jawan was killed. The child’s killing drew widespread anger and condemnation.

The terrorist believed to be involved in the Anantnag attack escaped yesterday after an encounter with security forces. Police said two other terrorists who were hiding with him at a village were killed.

Hizbul Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba

In the Kashmir region, 48 terrorists have been eliminated this month. Till June the security forces have eliminated 128 terrorists, out of whom 70 belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen, 20 each from Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba and remaining from other groups,” Singh said.
