Two burglars, who committed daylight burglary in no time at Burari, nabbed from Bawana area by PS Burari team

New Delhi: One lady complainant r/o Pradhan Enclave, Burari, Delhi, age-40 years, (who is a house wife), reported in her complaint that on 15.03.2022 at about 05:30 PM, she went to nearby Shiv Mandir, E-Block, Burari, Delhi for Bhajan Kirtan after locking her premises. After about one hour at about 06:45 PM, when she returned home, she found the locks of her house broken, Almirah was opened and other items were scattered. On checking, she found that her jewellery and cash Rs 69,000/- was got stolen from her house.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 273/22, dated 15.03.2022, u/s 380/454/34 IPC was registered at PS Burari and investigation was taken up.

Considering seriousness of the matter, a dedicated police team comprising of ASI Sanjeev Kumar, HC Praveen, Ct Pradeep and Ct Rahish was constituted to nab the culprits, under the close supervision of Inspr. Rajender Singh, SHO/PS Burari and guidance of Shri Swagat R. Patil, ACP/Timapur.

The above said police team conducted technical investigation and several CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the place of incident and the possible routes followed by the culprits were checked and analysed. During the technical investigation, the team succeeded in identifying three persons committing burglary in the house of the lady complainant.   The information was further developed and secret sources were mobilised to trace out the accused persons.  The mode of transport picket in the middle of the escape with the booty was identified and it was traced along with the driver and then the final destination of the burglar was pinned down. Surveillance was mounted at the suspected hide outs and the suspects were identified and matched with the CCTV footage on record.

On 18.03.2022, the dedicated police team conducted raids at various locations in JJ Colony, Bawana, Delhi and other nearby locations. Ultimately, two culprits identified as Iqlak, age-20 years and Kasim, age-25 years were apprehended from their houses in JJ Colony, Bawana, Delhi. Part of stolen jewellery i.e. 02 Silver Bracelets recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused persons Iqlak, age-20 years and Kasim, age-25 years confessed about their involvement with their other associate namely Zahir @ Firoz r/o JJ Colony, Bawana in the present burglary case at the house of complainant on 15.03.2022.

They used to pick an area to commit burglary and start reconnaissance. They target was identified primarily a house with a padlock on the main door, whose owner had just left the place. This means, the owner was out for a considerable duration and 10-15 minutes time was enough for them to decamp with the valuable. In this case also, they noticed the lady was locking the main door and entering the neighbourhood to join the Kirtan.

They further disclosed that they have handed over the remaining part of the stolen articles to their associate for selling the same. Raids were conducted at the possible whereabouts of co-accused Zahir @ Firoz, but he was found absconding.

On sustained interrogation, it revealed that both the apprehended accused persons are illiterate and drugs addict. They used to do work as labourers but due to insufficient income, they got indulged in criminal activities to earn easy money and to fulfil their lust of drug

RECOVERY:

  • Two silver bracelets.

The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to nab the co-accused Zahir @ Firoz and to recover rest of the stolen case property.
