21 injured in explosion at Fort Worth hotel in Texas

New York. At least 21 people were injured in an explosion, possibly caused by a gas leak, in a hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday afternoon. This information was given by the media, quoting officials.

ABC News quoted Fort Worth Fire Department officials as saying that one person is in critical condition after the explosion at the Sandman Signature Hotel around 3:30 p.m.

Fire department officials said that gas leakage was part of the incident, but they could not determine whether it caused the explosion.

Forth Worth Fire Department spokesman Craig Trojsek told reporters, “We do know that there was some construction going on underneath the restaurant. We’re not 100 percent certain that’s where it actually originated.”

It is not known how many of the injured were hotel guests or others. Fourteen people were transported to area hospitals, ABC News reported, citing officials.

A man who was initially unaccounted for was found during a search by firefighters, according to officials.

Trojasek said firefighters rescued people inside the hotel basement.

Immediately after the explosion, firefighters were seen wading through debris scattered across the street, including window shards and exterior parts, ABC News reported.

Trojasek said, “We’ll talk about structural integrity … after that, and we’re just trying to make sure that when we walk out of that building, we can definitely say that we’ve protected everyone in that building.” Removed from the structure.”

The hotel, located near the Fort Worth Convention Center, opened last May after an extensive renovation of Fort Worth’s landmark building, the Wagner Building.

According to the hotel’s website, the building was originally built in 1920, and “many original features” were retained during the conversion.

Governor Greg Abbott said in a statement that he was monitoring the situation.
