New Delhi: Under Operation Sajag, a continuing drive of North-West District for containment of crime & criminals and to dominate the streets so as to reduce street crimes as well as to instill confidence & sense of security among citizens, 04 auto lifters nabbed by the staff of PSs Ashok Vihar, Keshav Puram, and Model Town.
Under this drive, alert patrolling staff and special pickets were deployed for intensive checking and during this exercise, a major breakthrough was achieved whereby staff of PSs Ashok Vihar, Keshav Puram and Model Town nabbed 04 auto lifters in three different incidents on a single day and recovered 04 two-wheelers from their possession.
Brief Facts & Incident Details:-
On 28.01.22, HC Amit Dahiya, Ct. Mahender & Ct. Dayaveer of PP WPIA, Ashok Vihar were checking vehicles at Azadpur flyover picket in the area PP/WPIA PS Ashok Vihar. They noticed a suspicious person on a scooty roaming in the area. When police staff signaled him to stop, he immediately took u-turn and tried to flee away. However, the staff acted swiftly and was able to nab him by displaying keen sense of alertness & courage. On enquiry, he was identified as Piyush s/o Sh. Jitender Rohilla s/o Sardar Colony, sector 16, Rohini (Age- 18 yrs). On verification of recovered scooty no. DL 8SBK 3121, it was found stolen vide eFIR No. 27804/21, PS K.N. Katzu Marg.
Another team of PS Keshav Puram comprising of HC Vithal & Ct Prince were also performing night petrolling duty near Kaniya Nagar Metro Station, when they noticed a suspicious person on a scooty roaming in the area, who changed his route on seeing them. When police staff signaled him to stop, he tried to flee away. However, police staff acted swiftly and was able to nab him by displaying keen sense of alertness & swift response. On enquiry, he was identified as Pankaj s/o Tej Pal r/o Lal bagh, Azadpur, Delhi, (age 18.5 yrs). On verification of recovered scooty no. DL 8SBS 8035, it was found stolen vide eFIR No. 01847/22, PS Model Town.
In another incident, while performing patrolling duty in the area, HC Sanjeev, Ct. Kamal and Ct. Manjeet staff of PS Model Town noticed two persons on a black colour bike who took u-turn on seeing the police staff. The alert patrolling staff displayed keen sense of alertness and swift response and started chasing them. After chasing them for a certain distance, they were able to nab them. On enquiry, they were identified as Manish @ Bander s/o Jai Kishan R/o MCD Flats Jheel Wala, Model Town, Delhi (age-27 Yrs) and Parlahad @ rohit S/o Ashok R/o Gali No 4, Rameshwar Nagar, Delhi (age-25 yrs). On verification of recovered bike no. UP 12L 1219, it was found stolen vide eFIR No. 035475/21, PS Model Town. During their sustained interrogation, they disclosed their involvement in one another case of theft, on their instance, one more scooty also recovered which was found stolen from PS Roop Nagar. Accused Manish @ Bander found to be a habitual criminal, previously involved in another case of snatching.
