Mumbai, October 12 Actress Divya Khosla was last seen in the film ‘Savi’. She recently reacted sharply to Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Jigra’, which was released in theaters. Divya accused Alia of showing fake collections and said, “Buy the tickets yourself and announce the fake collection.”
A day after the release of ‘Jigra’, on Saturday, Divya shared a picture of an empty theater at the show of ‘Jigra’ in the stories section of her Instagram and told how practically zero audience is coming to the theaters for ‘Jigra’.
She wrote in the picture, “Went to City Mall PVR for ‘Jigra’ show. The theatre was completely empty. All theatres everywhere were getting empty. Alia Bhatt really has a lot of jigra, booked tickets herself and announced fake collections. Wonder why paid media is silent.”
According to media reports, Alia’s film ‘Jigra’ earned Rs 4.5 crore on the first day in India. However, Divya is not at all convinced about the collections, as she feels that the film’s collections have been made at the behest of the production house behind ‘Jigra’, which is considered one of the leading film studios in Hindi cinema.
Interestingly, Divya’s ‘Saavi’ also has a similar jail break story as Alia’s ‘Jigra’.
‘Saavi’ was able to earn only Rs 7.83 crore in two weeks in theatres. The film did not get many viewers due to ‘Chandu Champion’ in theatres. Alia’s ‘Jigra’ earned Rs 4.5 crore on its first day. Despite Divya’s claims of buying back tickets on Alia’s behalf, there is a huge difference in the collections of both the films, which are based on the same subject and story.
Another reason behind Divya attacking ‘Jigra’ could be Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri starrer ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, which clashed with ‘Jigra’ at the box-office. ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ is produced by Divya’s husband Bhushan Kumar.
