New Delhi, Feb 2 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed an election rally in RK Puram in view of the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. Describing himself as a ‘sevak’ of the people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi guaranteed Delhiites that he will work hard to solve the problems of slum dwellers and middle-class people after the BJP government is formed in the city.
Addressing an election rally in RK Puram, Prime Minister Modi said that he fulfills what he promises. He highlighted the income tax benefits included in the Union Budget 2025-26 to put more money in the pockets of the middle class.
PM Modi hit out at the scams of the AAP government and said that AAP leaders will have to answer and “those who have looted will have to return.”
Throwing light on the Union Budget 2025–26, he said it is a guarantee to fulfill Modi’s guarantee to the four pillars of developed India—the poor, farmers, youth, and women.
He said, “This is the budget of the aspirations of the people. The middle class will save thousands of rupees as tax on income up to Rs 12 lakh has been made zero. This is the biggest tax exemption given to an Indian salaried person since independence.”
He said that in the government of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, a person earning Rs 12 lakh per annum had to pay one-fourth of his income as tax. In the government of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a person earning Rs 12 lakh per annum lost Rs 10 lakh in taxes.
He said that till 10 years ago, in the Congress government, a person earning Rs 12 lakh had to pay Rs 2.60 lakh as tax, but in our government, a person earning Rs 12 lakh will not have to pay any tax.
Prime Minister Modi claimed that the corruption-free government of the BJP has spent every rupee for the development and welfare of the poor.
The government has given free rations and concrete houses to the poor and spent money on building roads, hospitals, flyovers, and promoting “Make in India”.
He said that with Vasant Panchami, the weather starts changing, and after three days, with the formation of the BJP government in Delhi, the spring of development is going to come. Pointing to the disarray in the AAP, PM Modi said the broom is falling apart like straws as the AAP leaders are leaving it. Referring to the recent decision of eight AAP MLAs to join the BJP, he said, “The AAP government has been exposed in front of the voters of Delhi.” Earlier, PM Modi, while seeking support from the voters, said the city needs a government that spends its energy on development and not in fighting with others. The AAP government has wasted 10 years by seeking votes on old promises. But now the voters of Delhi will choose a BJP government.
