New Delhi, February 8 Aam Aadmi Party candidate Imran Hussain has won the Ballimaran seat in the Delhi Assembly elections. He defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kamal Bagdi by a huge margin of 29,823 votes.
After the victory, Imran Hussain expressed his gratitude to the people of Ballimaran and said that this victory is the victory of the common people. He said, “First of all, I thank the people of Ballimaran from the bottom of my heart. This victory is the victory of the people of Ballimaran. I cannot repay the people of Ballimaran for this support. This victory belongs to every child, elderly, youth and woman. I dedicate my victory to the common people.” It is noteworthy that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is moving towards an absolute majority in the Delhi Assembly elections. According to the latest results of the Election Commission, the BJP has so far won 13 seats and is leading in 34 seats, taking its total tally to 47. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won 11 seats and is leading in 12 seats, giving it a total of 23 seats. Congress could not win any seat in this election.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has lost from New Delhi seat and Manish Sisodia from Jangpura seat. However, Chief Minister Atishi has won the Kalkaji seat. Satyendra Jain has also lost the election.
After the defeat, Kejriwal said – “We accept the defeat. Congratulations to the BJP for the victory. The public has given them a majority. I hope they will live up to the aspirations of the people.”
There is a festive atmosphere at the BJP headquarters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach the party headquarters at 7 pm and address the workers.
