Hindu College Inaugurates Renovated Seminar Hall, Renamed as ‘Shyam Kasturi Auditorium’

New Delhi: Hindu College, University of Delhi, inaugurated its newly renovated seminar hall, now renamed the ‘Shyam Kasturi Auditorium,’ in a grand ceremony held on campus. The event was graced by Shri Harivansh, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, as the Chief Guest, and renowned Hindi poet Dr. Buddhinath Mishra as the Presiding Guest.

In her address, Prof. Anju Srivastava, Principal of Hindu College, expressed deep gratitude to the College’s distinguished alumnus and former faculty member, Dr. Suresh Rituparna, whose generous contribution and unwavering commitment made the transformation of the seminar hall possible. She further stated that Dr. Rituparna, a celebrated Hindi scholar and litterateur, has been associated with Hindu College for over six decades and has significantly contributed to the global propagation of Hindi literature, having taught in Mauritius, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Japan.

The Chief Guest, Shri Harivansh, applauded Hindu College for its rich legacy in nation-building and commended the renovation of the auditorium. He emphasized that the Shyam Kasturi Auditorium will now serve as a vibrant platform for students to engage in co-curricular and cultural activities such as debates, quizzes, theatrical performances, and more.

A special highlight of the occasion was the unveiling of Dr. Suresh Rituparna’s latest book titled Kal Jab Main Nahi Rahunga, a marvellous poetic work that has also been translated into Urdu, Marathi, and Punjabi. The book, capturing over 50 years of poetic expression and 40 years of visual moments, was formally released by Shri Harivansh during the ceremony.
