Shubhendu will defeat Mamta by a big margin in Nandigram: Shah

New Delhi| On Tuesday, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a roadshow in support of party candidate Shubhendu Adhikari in the Nandigram Assembly constituency of West Bengal, where Shubhendu is pitted against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. During the roadshow, Shah said in Nandigram that Shubhendu would defeat Mamata Banerjee by a huge margin. Shah along with the officer greeted a large number of people standing on the roadside between Bethuria and Rayapara.

The slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ kept echoing during the roadshow. The posters on the vehicle on which Shah and the officer were standing, read, ‘Banglaayar Aibar Asol Poribortan’. At the same time, Mamta Banerjee also did a four-kilometer-long roadshow. This was the last day of campaigning in Nandigram.

Shah said that it has become clear from the reaction of the people who is going to win in Nandigram.

He said, “There is BJP everywhere in West Bengal! I am confident that Nandigram will become the epicenter of Poribortan (Parivartan) in Bengal. See these pictures of the crowded streets of Nandigram.”

Shah also did roadshows in Debra in East Medinipur and Panskura in Medinipur and shared many pictures of him on social media, showing the overcrowded crowd.

He tweeted, “Seeing the enthusiasm among the people of Nandigram, it is clear that BJP candidate from Nandigram is going to win Shubhendu Adhikari. The easiest way to get Poribortan is to ensure that Mamta didi loses from here.”

The election campaign in Nandigram ended at 5 pm. The constituency will go to polls on April 1 in the second phase of the assembly elections.

The BJP is confident of winning the Nandigram seat by a margin of over 25,000 votes.

After witnessing a record turnout on March 27 in the first phase, Shah has claimed that his party will win 26 out of 30 seats in this phase.

Shah had said, “Based on the discussion and feedback received from booth level activists and leaders, I can say with confidence that we are winning 26 out of 30 seats in the first phase polling area in West Bengal.”
