New Delhi, February 25 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi made a serious allegation on the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that the places in Delhi Secretariat and Assembly where Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s pictures were put up, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pictures are being put up there.
She questioned the BJP whether they think that Narendra Modi is bigger than Babasaheb Ambedkar and whether he can replace Ambedkar. Atishi said, “This is the same BJP, whose leader and country’s Home Minister Amit Shah had stood in Parliament and made fun of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Today we want to ask the BJP what they think about Babasaheb Ambedkar.”
She also alleged that Babasaheb’s pictures were removed from the offices of BJP ministers Maninder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra and Prime Minister Modi’s picture was put up there.
Atishi asked the BJP if it was trying to symbolically send a message that Modi was bigger than Ambedkar. Atishi further said, “Babasaheb had given rights to every oppressed class of the country through the Constitution. Does the BJP believe that PM Modi is more important than those rights?”
She also said that Sirsa and Mishra will have to answer for this change. She alleged that at one place in the Chief Minister’s Office of Delhi, Ambedkar’s picture was removed and PM Modi’s picture was put up. Atishi questioned the BJP if they believe that Modi is above Babasaheb and the step of removing his pictures and putting PM Modi’s picture is right.
