Amol Palekar was hospitalized in Pune due to Covid, condition stable

Pune | Amol Palekar, veteran actor and director of 1970s Bollywood, has been admitted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital due to COVID-19. The condition of the 77-year-old actor is said to be stable.

Palekar has also worked in and contributed to Marathi mainstream films and parallel cinema, the 1971 film ‘Shanta Court Chalu Aahe’. She then made her Bollywood debut in 1974 with Rakhi from Basu Bhattacharya’s Rajnigandha.

He was popular for starring in middle-class family comedies such as ‘Gol Maal’ and ‘Naram Garam’, and was also seen in films such as ‘Gharaunda’, ‘Shriman Shrimati’, ‘Rang Birangi’ and ‘Bhumika’.
