Srinagar | The body of Ankita Bhandari was taken from the mortuary in Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal to NIT Ghat, where Ankita was cremated. At the same time, earlier, angry people had blocked the Badrinath Rishikesh highway due to Ankita’s postmortem report. It is being told that Ankita’s family was not satisfied with the post-mortem report and the family had refused to perform the last rites. On the persuasion of CM Dhami and the district administration, the family got ready for the last rites, after which Ankita Bhandari has been cremated at ITI Ghat in Srinagar. During this, a huge crowd gathered at the ghat to bid farewell to Ankita.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the trial of the Ankita Bhandari murder case will be conducted in the fast track court and all possible help will be given by the government to the victim’s family. He said that whoever indulges in this heinous crime will be given the harshest punishment. SIT is probing the matter. He appealed to the people to cooperate in the investigation. He said that such an incident has happened with a daughter. In such a situation, it is natural for people to be angry.
