Bihar| 14 people were killed and 10 injured in a horrific explosion in a three-story house in the Tatarpur police station area of ​​Bhagalpur district of Bihar late on Thursday night. Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) SK Singhal said in a press conference on Friday that a massive explosion took place at a house of Kajvalichak at around 11.30 pm, which shook the entire area. He told that the owner of the house where the blast took place was Mohammad Azad. Who had given this house on rent to Lilavati Devi. Lilavati Devi’s family already used to make firecrackers.

He said that these people did not have license to make firecrackers and they used to do the work of making firecrackers illegally. The DGP said that 14 people, including five people of Lilavati Devi’s house, were killed in the blast, while 10 people were injured, who are undergoing treatment.

He said that wrappers for making firecrackers, a large quantity of gunpowder along with other items have been recovered from the spot. Tatarpur police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar Sudhanshu has been suspended with immediate effect for being prima facie negligent.

He said that after getting information about the incident, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sujit Kumar, District Magistrate Subrata Kumar Sen, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Babu Ram reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started.

He said that after eight-nine hours of hard work, the debris has been removed and a detailed investigation is being done. The team of FSL and dog squad has also been deployed in the investigation.

Here, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also ordered an inquiry expressing grief over the incident. The Chief Minister called the Chief Secretary and the DGP and inquired about the incident in detail. The Chief Minister has also given instructions to provide proper treatment to the injured.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the phone on the incident of blast and expressed grief over the incident.

The Prime Minister himself tweeted this information. He tweeted and wrote, The news of the loss of life due to blast in Bhagalpur, Bihar is painful. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. The situation related to the incident was also discussed with Chief Minister Nitish ji. The administration is engaged in relief and rescue operations, and all possible assistance is being provided to the victims.
