Bikramganj, May 30. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Bikramganj in Rohtas district on Friday, the second day of his two-day Bihar tour. Here he inaugurated, laid the foundation stone and dedicated several development projects worth more than Rs 48,520 crore.
Earlier, PM Modi reached the stage riding on an open vehicle, passing through the people. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary were also present on the vehicle. During this, flowers kept raining on PM Modi and the people present kept raising slogans of ‘Modi Zindabad’ and ‘Operation Sindoor’. PM Modi also kept greeting the people by waving his hand. During this, tight security arrangements were made.
Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project, Phase-II (3×800 MW) costing over Rs 29,930 crore in Aurangabad district, boosting power infrastructure in the region. The scheme aims to ensure energy security for Bihar and eastern India.
It is being told that this will boost industrial development, create employment opportunities and provide cheap electricity in the region. In this sequence, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of various road projects including four-laning of Patna-Ara-Sasaram section of NH-119A, six-laning of Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Highway (NH-319B) and Ramnagar-Kacchi Dargah section (NH-119D) and construction of a new Ganga bridge between Buxar and Bharauli to boost road infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
These projects will create seamless high-speed corridors in the state as well as boost trade and regional connectivity. The Prime Minister inaugurated the construction of four lanes of Patna-Gaya-Dobhi section of NH-22 costing about Rs 5,520 crore. Apart from this, he also inaugurated the construction of four lanes of elevated highway and grade improvement in Gopalganj city on NH-27.
Along with this, Prime Minister Modi dedicated the third railway line between Son Nagar-Mohammadganj costing Rs 1,330 crore to the nation, apart from other projects in line with his commitment to improve rail infrastructure across the country. Apart from this, PM Modi gave the gift of many projects to Bihar. On this occasion, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, many Union Ministers and Bihar Ministers were present.
It is worth mentioning that PM Modi reached Patna on Thursday. Here he inaugurated the new terminal of Patna airport and participated in a road show. PM Modi also held a meeting with senior BJP leaders in Patna.
