New Delhi| While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest elections on a total of 115 assembly seats in Kerala, it has given 25 seats to the allies. A total of 140 assembly seats in the state will go to the polls on April 6. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the names of the candidates were stamped in the meeting held at the BJP headquarters till 11.30 pm on Saturday. The list of candidates can be released on Sunday. After the meeting of the Central Election Committee on Kerala at the BJP headquarters, the state president K Surendran said that the party has decided to contest 115 seats in the state. 25 seats have been left for the allies. The candidature of Metroman E Sreedharan was also discussed in the meeting.
A meeting was held at the BJP headquarters in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday from 7 pm to 11:30 pm to finalize the names of candidates for the assembly elections in Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry and West Bengal. Apart from National President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, the state presidents and in-charge of the states participated prominently in this meeting.
