Celebrations outside Rekha Gupta’s house after she was elected Delhi Chief Minister

New Delhi, Feb 19 Rekha Gupta has been declared as the Chief Minister of Delhi. After her name was approved in the BJP Legislature Party meeting, Rekha Gupta will take oath at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.

There is a happy atmosphere at Rekha Gupta’s house after she became the Chief Minister. Her supporters and close relatives are gathering to congratulate her. People are celebrating this historic occasion by feeding sweets to each other.

Rekha Gupta, who was elected MLA for the first time from Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh seat, defeated AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes from the Shalimar Bagh seat.

Rekha Gupta entered student politics in 1992 while studying at Delhi University’s Daulat Ram College. She was associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and became the president of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) in 1996-97, where she actively raised student issues. After being elected councillor from North Pitampura in 2007, she worked on the development of facilities like library, park and swimming pool in the area.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Ramlila Maidan on February 20. The first copy of the invitation for the ceremony has surfaced. In this invitation letter, the Chief Secretary has invited all the people to attend the ceremony.

In the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP has shown the way out of power to the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by winning 48 out of 70 seats.

The AAP, which ruled Delhi for more than 10 years, could get only 22 seats in the assembly elections. At the same time, like last time, this time also the account of Congress could not be opened.
