Condolences pour in for Musharraf’s family

Islamabad| Condolences poured in as news of the death of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf spread across the country on Sunday. President Arif Alvi offered prayers and condolences to the former COAS.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his condolences to the family of the former president and prayed for the departed soul.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and the army chiefs expressed condolences.

Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of General Pervez Musharraf, former Chairman, CJCSC and Chief of Army Staff, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). May God give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.

In a series of tweets, Senate President Sadiq Sanjrani expressed deep sorrow over the death of the former president and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

Taking to Twitter, senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Hussain condoled and wrote, Pervez Musharraf has passed away, he was a great man, and his thinking and ideology were always Pakistan first.

Expressing condolences, former chief minister of Punjab province Pervez Elahi said that Musharraf’s services to the Pakistan Army and the country cannot be forgotten.

Musharraf died in a hospital in Dubai after a prolonged illness.
