Cruiser Drugs Case: NCB Withdraws Charges Against 6 Including Aryan Khan

Mumbai| The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday withdrew drug possession charges against six main accused, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. An official gave this information. In fact, on Friday, NCB has given a clean chit to Aryan Khan in the drugs on cruise case. NCB filed a charge sheet in a Mumbai court against 14 people, which did not include Aryan Khan’s name. Apart from Aryan Khan, the charge sheet has not been filed against Avin Shahu, Gopal Ji Anand, Sameer Saighan, Bhaskar Arora and Manav Singhal for want of evidence.

In the sensational case filed before a special court, the NCB has given clean chit to Aryan, Evin Sahu, Gopal Anand, Sameer Sehgal, Bhaskar Arora and Manav Singhal.

While Sahu was a guest on the ship Cordelia Cruises, which was caught by a team led by the then NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, the others on board were the organizers of the alleged rave party.

The NCB, in its charge sheet, has said that in the case that attracted international media attention for months, all except Aryan Khan and Mohk Jaiswal were found to be in possession of narcotics.

In a brief statement, NCB Deputy Director General Sanjay Kumar Singh said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted its investigation in a “purposeful manner”.

Singh said NCB will now proceed with the case against 14 out of the total 20 accused and have dropped the charges against the above 6 accused ‘due to lack of sufficient evidence.

Tarak Syed, counsel for one of the main accused, speaking briefly to IANS, indicated that the six persons would now be acquitted as “there is no evidence to proceed against them, and the charges have been dropped by the NCB.”

Based on intelligence inputs, NCB Mumbai raided Cordelia Cruises and detained Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, Nupur Sarika, Munmun Dhamecha, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikrant Chhokar.
