Delhi Assembly Election: FIR filed against Atishi and many others for violating code of conduct

New Delhi, February 4. A day before the assembly elections in Delhi, there was a ruckus in Kalka Ji assembly constituency till late night. Political parties have accused each other of assault and distribution of cash. Amidst this ruckus, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi reached Govindpuri police station and lodged a complaint with the police, in which she has accused BJP workers of threatening the people of slums of Delhi.

Atishi alleges that after giving her complaint, the police on the contrary registered two cases against her and AAP workers. According to the police, both the cases are related to obstruction in government work and violation of code of conduct.

According to the information, the time for campaigning for Delhi elections ended yesterday, but till late night, workers of different parties were seen campaigning at many places, which led to ruckus at many places. The most ruckus took place in Kalka Ji, where Chief Minister Atishi has a seat. After this incident, the police at Govindpuri police station have registered an FIR against Atishi and her supporters under violation of the code of conduct.

Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Atishi in the first case of violation of the code of conduct. It is alleged that Atishi reached Fateh Singh Marg with 10 vehicles and 50-60 supporters. When the police ordered her to leave from there citing the code of conduct, she refused. This case was registered against her on the complaint of the Election Commission.

In the second case, Atishi’s supporters are accused of obstructing government work and attacking the police. Delhi Police has also registered a case in this matter. At the same time, action has been taken against Manish Bidhuri, nephew of BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri, under the Representation of Peoples Act. Suspicious items were reported in a vehicle, but nothing objectionable was found during investigation.

According to the police, on February 4 at 12:30 am, AAP candidate from Kalka G (AC-51) Atishi and her 50-70 supporters were found on Fateh Singh Marg. Police directed them to leave citing violation of the code of conduct. On the complaint of FST, a case was registered at Govindpuri police station under section 223 BNS and 126 RP Act.

Atishi alleged that the Election Commission is being biased. Atishi alleged that Ramesh Bidhuri’s family members are openly violating the code of conduct, but the Election Commission and the police did not take any action against them. At the same time, she expressed displeasure over the case being registered against her after calling the police and the Election Commission on her complaint and questioned how much more the electoral process will be flouted.
