Delhi CM Kejrival soon to impose lockdown in market due to Covid 19

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal proposal to impose lockdown in the market in view of the continuous increase in Covid 19 cases in Delhi. The traders of Delhi must be consulted before taking any decision on this proposal related to the livelihood of lakhs of traders and their employees and others. CAT’s National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that, such a proposal by the Chief Minister of Delhi reflects the complete failure of the Delhi government to deal with the Corona issue in Delhi, while Kejriwal and his ministers in the past have long held the covid position Claims were made which proved to be airborne only.

He said, although the rapid rise of Corona is certainly a major concern for the people of Delhi, the issue needs to be handled strategically and not piecemeal. It is very important to fully consider all the situations arising out of the closure of markets. The merchant and trade organization of Delhi is fully united with the government to deal with the situation in Corona.

He said that any action taken by the government without consulting traders could also lead to adverse results. The supply of not only regular items, but also essential items, will become difficult with such lockdowns. Therefore, there is an urgent need to devise a strategy that can not only bring down corona cases, but also ensure the free flow of goods and services.

Earlier, Kejriwal had said that a large number of people in some markets are neither wearing masks nor following social distancing. Because of this, the corona spread too much. If the corona spreads in any Delhi market due to neglect of the corona rules and the area becomes a corona hotspot, then the Delhi government should be allowed to close it for a few days.
